Dave tapped on the counter, signaling the bartender for two more beers before turning back to his companion for the evening. He’d been more than a little impressed by Kaya’s skateboarding skills - the sport was a bit of a lost art these days, especially among most ‘adults’ but it was something Dave had loved to do for as long as he could remember and the brunette had easily kept up. After roaming the local amusement park and sharing a few laughs (and screams) on the rides, Dave figured all the day needed to be perfect was to end with a couple beers and maybe some nachos and wings. Thankfully, Kaya had agreed, because it wouldn’t have been the same on his own.
Now, he carried the two fresh mugs back to the booth they’d hunkered down in, a half eaten plate of nachos and several chicken bones cluttering the table between them. “It’s starting to pick up a little in here, huh?” he commented as he slid back onto the bench across from her, sliding her beer over to her before taking a gulp of his own. They’d arrived not long before dinner time and although they joined several others scattered through the seats, the empty ones had slowly filled up as it moved into evening. “You cool sticking around here for a bit or did you want to think about heading out after this?” he asked, gesturing to full pint in front of her. @scodelarose
