“I have to, Remus. For Regulus, for James, for us.”

Remus squeezed his eyes shut, knowing that Sirius didn’t have a choice anymore and tried to keep his tears at bay.

“I know,” Remus sighed, stepping closer to Sirius to hug him. “I just wish it didn’t have to be this.”

Sirius’ embrace was everything and Remus didn’t want to let go of him until he finally opened his eyes and realized that Sirius was no longer there.

Dear future me

You made it.All the tears, the pain. The lonely days and sleepless nights mean nothing now.Because you made it through. I made it through.

Right now you feel like there’s no end to that tunnel. But just keep walking, running, crawling, dragging yourself by your fingernails.Anything it takes to get through, for you to see that sliver of a light, signaling an end to your night.

You can do it. You just can’t give up.Like you tell everyone else,

if you end your saga now, you will never know if it had a happy ending.

So keep reading. It’s always better to regret something you did rather than didn’t. And that includes life too.

And although it feels as if you will never be good enough, never find what you are good at, or what makes you special - you can never stop. Not now, not in a minute or ten. Not in a month, a year. You must continue.You might tell yourself that you’ll never be good enough all night through on repeat, as long as you drag yourself from bed and tries to prove you wrong when the sun raises.Prove me wrong.

And yes, it feels as your entire chest is hollow and empty, and crying for your heart back - because it hurts knowing you might never kiss her lips again, never hold her at night or breathe in that scent that is her, and only her - and still you know that you will never ask for that heart back.Because we both know that when you give it away, you don’t do it lightly. It’s for keep. And yes, the ache might subdue in days or months or years.But we still love her. I know we do.Because we simply have no other choice.And as strange as that sounds, that comforts me.

So future me, life might seem shit now.But you know what I have yet to learn.We will get through it.

I just wished I had it too.

I know, that might sound like some pretentious bullcrap, but it’s the truth. I really am so, so happy for you. But every time I think of you, and it all, it’s like this knife is twisted in my gut, and I feel like crying. And lord oh mighty, I just wished I could have what you have.
