Rhys’ eyes fly open seconds before 4:59 am flips to 5:00 am, and his hand slams down on the clock just as the alarm begins to blare. Tim mutters something, and Rhys looks behind him guiltily, but Timothy is still fast asleep, face scrunched up and brows drawn down as if his dreams have taken a turn for the worse.

Rhys glances at the clock, and at the artificial dawn creeping through the window; he should get up, has work to do, he has responsibilities...

Instead he curls back in toward Timothy, dragging his thumb along the bridge of Tim’s nose and up his forehead. Tim’s face smooths out, relaxing, and Rhys closes his eyes again and settles in, savoring the sound of his name on a breathy sigh.
