I love Scott Smajor because a few years ago he played a really awesome guy with ice powers and then an evil intimidating white-haired vampire and then a sweet blonde light mage. then he did some other stuff. and the in the past year he's played an evil intimidating white-haired vampire and then a sweet blonde light mage and then a really awesome guy with ice powers. and these characters are ALL so incredibly distinct and interesting... what a guy

so when Scott met osteon, he immediately switched up right?

He basically became besties with the person, sharing more info that he has shared with most of the other students(who he has known for months atp) which I honestly think is very interesting for his character.

Once a stronger, older, person shows up to teach them and protect them(security wise at least, not from the horrors :D), Scott immediately showed a different side to himself; one he had likely needed to suppress as a main pillar and future mayor of Tegrith.

He was clearly very curious about Osteon, having less trouble trusting the new person because he is a dragon rider, just like the rest of them!

He freely answered questions that he's been asked by others and vaguely denied or ignored.

Also, after finding out about Osteon's wither magic, Scott immediately asked them to, quite literally, "hit me!"

I have a feeling that the prospect of someone showing up, being incredibly strong and experienced and able to protect the people that Scott loves, has nearly endeared Osteon to him.

Scott is also, from what I've seen, one of the physically strongest players. His magic is definitely one of the most versatile, and many people rely on him for various things or information.

Remember, Scott is only 23. He had to grow up very quickly in order to help his parents and the other villagers in Tegrith his whole life, almost completely on his own after Pyro left at 15.

The fact that there is now someone who could take some of that residual pressure off of him?

I am willing to bet that we see Scott act a bit more relaxed, at least in Osteon's presence, and maybe he'll be able to join in a few more shenanigans rather than just chaperoning them :)

Here's all the lore (in order) that Scott revealed in his out of character yap in his The Flight Stream, 'Shorter Stream!', for the people who don't watch him:

- tf!Scott is meant to be a larger guy, from doing work back in Tegrith. Especially since he had to pick up the slack fron Pyro leaving.

- Tegrith is basically two villages with a Summer & Spring town with Viking-style architecture that the people use when the snow thaws for livestock and trade from mid March to early November. During the Winter months, they move into underground a mountain that they made into a town which is heated up by volcanic rock.

- His mom is the mayor of Tegrith, has been for 20 years. So Scott occasionally gets sent out for diplomatic missions. She was also the youngest and first female mayor that Tegrith had. Her and the dad used to go on diplomatic mission which is why Tegrith let her be the mayor for so long.

- tf!Scott was adopted when he was 2 and very loved by his adoptive parents. He was found abandoned by his birth parents.

- tf!Scott is heavily based on the song 'Little Miss Perfect,' which, by Scott's words means that he is: "Kinda has to feel like he has to prove himself cause of where they're from, their upbriging, they're adopted, closeted."

- While tf!Scott's family is well off, super supportive and loved him a lot, he has a self-inflicted anxiety and need to prove himself and his worth to be a valuable member of the town since he wasn't from Tegrith and thinks that he's an outsider. Even if the town never treated him that way.

- Both dad & mom are alive!

- Scott has the names of both parents but decided not to say it for now.

- In character, tf!Scott knows nothing about his biological parents and has no intrest in knowing more. All he knows is that his adoptive parents found him on a trail in the woods after doing a diplomatic trip.

- tf!Scott is 6'4. tf!Pyro is canonically 6'0 but Scott joked that tf!Pyro is the type to lie about being 6'0 when he's actually 5'11/5'11 and a half.

- tf!Scott & tf!Pyro are childhood friends who, as they grew up, developed into the totally opposite personalities which makes them butt heads a lot. Because of this, they know how to perfectly annoy each other.

- tf!Scott constantly wants to feel useful and wanted/needed so he isn't a snitch and goes along with the bits since he doesn't want people to not be his friend.

- tf!Scott's magic has been intentionally innate/reactionary in it's unlocking and very utility-based rather than damage.
