My Thoughts on the recent dog shooting in Hawthorne, California.
As some of you may have heard, on Sunday a Police Officer shot a dog four times in front of it’s owner. Why you may ask? Because it was barking. This poor dog was simply barking at police officers while his owner was being ILLEGALLY arrested, (there were no congruent grounds to arrest him) and he was brutally murdered in the street in front of onlookers, and his beloved owner; and yes this was all caught on video. I cannot fathom what kind of evil person would shoot a dog in the street. The officers had so many other humane options to detain this dog or stop it from barking. A gun is only to be used by an officer as a last resort. And what threat was he facing that he needed to resort to a gun? No threat, he wasn’t facing an assailant with a weapon, he was facing a dog, simple as that; a poor defenseless dog.
There is one thing I cannot stand for in this world and that is the killing of innocent animals. Jeffrey Salmon, the police officer that shot that poor dog four times IN FRONT OF IT’S OWNER is a disgusting human being and he should go straight to hell where he belongs. If anything he certainly did not need to continuously shoot the poor animal.
These actions over the past weekend make me wonder….what is happening to our law enforcement? Are all the people they are hiring trigger happy idiots? I thought police officers were the smart, and compassionate good guys who wanted to put murderers behind bars, not become killers themselves.I thought their duty was to serve and protect, to use their brains to diffuse situations like this in a smart manner; not murder innocent animals. I am at a loss for words. I have never been so ashamed and disgusted by a police officer in my whole life. In my opinion Jeffrey Salmon should be fired and deserves to spend the rest of his life knowing he ruined a mans life, and he killed an innocent creature.
Did you know that killing a police dog is an automatic life sentence? Now let me ask you, why should Max’s murder be any different? What if Max were a human? He should have the same respect shown to him as a police dog and a human would. In my opinion Jeffrey Salmon deserves a life sentence in prison. He killed a member of someone’s family ( not to mention right in front of it’s owner) he took away the owners dignity, the owners innocence and the owners best friend. Why should we show Jeffrey Salmon mercy when he showed Max no mercy? I am absolutely devastated for this poor loss. Go ahead and call me naive but yes I value an animals life just as much as I value a human life, and when an animal is shot in cold blood something should be and NEEDS to be done.
First Trayvon Martin, now an innocent dog. Who is safe from police brutality? We shouldn’t be afraid of those meant to protect us.
Rest In Peace, Max I hope we get you justice soon. Enjoy Doggy Heaven!
