Since I took an active part in Ukrainian animal liberation movement (since summer 2017), I try to provide all possible help and in some way be an example to my peers. In addition to the fact that the educational initiative that I founded constantly participates in and even organizes animal protection rallies, we conduct charitable lectures and lessons to raise some money for shelters, educate people and draw public attention to animal care issues.

Thus, I am constantly in contact with volunteers of animal protection organizations. Once I found out that one red cat had been hit by a car, found by volunteers and brought to a clinic. He had a concussion, his eyes and mouth were bleeding. Somehow I was especially worried about him, I felt sorry for him, as if me or my close friend had fallen under that car. I don’t know why this cat touched me, but I wanted him to recover more than anyone before.

I already have a pedigreed cat adopted from the street, it was difficult to leave him at home, since my relatives are against animals. But it was in his favor that he was thoroughbred and looked domestic. I couldn’t put him back on the street, and I promised to find his owners. But they didn’t respond in any way, and the cat wasn’t a mess and behaved extremely well-mannered, although not very sociable. He got used to his new place and parent for a long time. He is very lazy, introverted and demanding. Getting attention from him is worth a lot.

And suddenly I decided to shelter this second cat. If I had an opportunity to rent a separate flat, I would do it right away. I had to persuade and arouse a lot of hatred, promising to move to my own apartment with all the cats this summer. So, I managed to take the red cat home. Noone liked him: he’s ugly and peasant, they said. Before they didn’t like the grey cat, but when the red appeared, grey got the favor. It's like he earned some advantage. But I was grateful that I had a chance and time to get acquainted with the new pet before I move.

The red cat turned out to be very affectionate, curious, energetic, but quite obedient and reasonable. He comes to sit on my lap, likes to spend time with me and easily responds to his name. I didn’t receive it from the first cat. But I admire my grey baby, I can forever observe his huge body, cheeks, round fluffy paws. Also I loved that most of the time he was quiet and likes to be alone, does not distract me and doesn’t create chaos.

And everything would be perfect, but so far the cats don’t get along. From time to time they yell at each other and start fights. I have to be alert all the time to prevent contractions and chases. I hope I will pass this period, overcome the main difficulty and make cats brothers with no loss for each of them. Because I really love the first cat and I don’t want him to be offended, and I really wanted the second cat too, I waited for him and already got used to him, it would be difficult for me to part with him.

The main difficulty is still ahead - moving to another city and renting, because it is very hard to find an apartment, with animals, even  well-bred, or children.

But by now I'm a happy parent of two cats: D
