We came across these old Shuttles that were used on our Madras looms when we first started weaving 122 years ago and thought we would share them with you!❤️ Madras was formally known as ‘Scotch Leno Gauze Weave’ and was brought to the valley by Flemish refugees at the end of the 16th century. Cliona Riach created this fresh tree design and will be using it to construct her own garment for her studies this year.
