The Pace Report: "At The Crosswinds" The Billy Cobham Interview
In the early spring of 1974 drummer Billy Cobham was ending his long run with playing and touring with the infamous Mahavishnu Orchestra organized and lead by guitarist John McLaughin. This band also consisted of Jan Hammer on keyboards, Jerry Goodman on violin, Rick Laird on bass and would record their first two groundbreaking albums "The Inner Mounting Flame"(1971) and "Birds of Fire."(1973)
A year before this, Billy would also have the time to compose and record his epic debut album "Spectrum" released on Atlantic Records. "Spectrum" would dominate the jazz charts for the entire year.
Billy's second album would be even more expansive in his composition writing and the line-up of up and coming musicians on the NYC music scene took Billy to another level.
"Crosswinds" was released to critical acclaimed praises by both the critics and music fans alike and would also dominate jazz charts in 1974. This album featured the great George Duke on keyboards, John Abercrombie on guitar, Randy Brecker on trumpet, Michael Brecker on woodwinds, and Garnett Brown on trumpet.
This year Bill went on tour with the "Crosswinds Project" featuring Scott Tibbs on keys, Tim Landers on bass, Fareed Haque on guitar, and Paul Hanson on Bassoon and saxophones.

Fear, quality, star-sign
Fear - Tell us 3 Fears:Well, I'm afraid of spiders (and not mildly, one time there was a spider on top of my rental car when I was in Disney World, and my parents wouldn't get out of the car to kill it, so they drove away and left me in the Epcot parking lot for about 5-10 minutes), the dark (don't laugh at me when I was 7 my friend's sister told me about all these urban legends, and forwarded me all this creepy chain emails but the thing was I wouldn't know how to forward them to other people or copy and paste so I copied them word for word into however many individual emails), and death by chemicals (like when I dye my hair I always cry because I'm afraid that it'll get into my lungs and somehow kill me or something like that)
Quality - Name 3 of your favourite blogs:Well, I have allot, and presuming Dan and Phil don't count; - spookyscotttibbs a.k.a scotttibbs (sorry but ava is never coming off of this list)- skyekit (for being totally awesome with amazing fandoms and one for the best blogs ever)-danisnotorfire (idek what to say Kimberly (and her blog) is just so perf okay)(I love loads of other blogs it was so hard to just choose 3 :$)
