I love the fact that people are talking about Jodie’s natural scouse accent and having trouble understanding it. As a fellow scouser I can confirm that the rest of England struggle to understand us, but it was nice hearing the accent on tv, as most of the UK tv/film like to ignore our existence!
I get shown this video by my non-English (but fluent) husband daily of this scouse football fan and he's always like do you understand what he says, so i just translate it from English into English. He loves this video cos it's like another language and it always baffles him. For me I would assume most English speaking people would easily be understand this but I guess maybe not.
You really didn't strike me as a football fan, much less a Liverpool fan and I find both of these facts really interesting. (Are you a scouser? Because I'm lowkey reading your posts in a scouse accent now)
Aahahahahahahah oh my fucking god I love this message so much!!!! Both my parents are scousers, but I was actually born in Australia. My dad is a huge Liverpool fan, so I’ve always been one too, since the day I was born. 28 years and counting, baby! (There was a time back in 2004 I moved to the UK and all I wore were Liverpool shirts, but I’ve since grown out of them ahah)
So reality, no-I don’t have a scouse accent. But my parents definitely do when they’ve had a few bevvies ;)
