so i still haven’t managed to write their romance. but you know what i do have written? their epic fight

so i watched a big chunk of the untamed with a friend and now im 50% motivated to write for that ot3 fic. to be fair though, it’s been far more deleting and rearranging than actual typing.

Are you still continuing break the scouter? I really like how you’ve written this and I’m interested in how it will progress,,,,especially when wwx comes back.

This one’s difficult to answer, cause like. The answer should be yes. I’m still very invested in that fic and pairing (if not MDZS as a whole), and there’s honestly a good amount of unpublished writing that’s already been done. However, I’m not really interested in writing in the MDZS universe right now.

Basically, I want that fic to complete itself so I can read it and enjoy its completeness, but I don’t want to write it right now. I’m not sure when I will want to. Not discontinued, just… let me focus on other fics right now.

Lan Wangji is heavy.

This is not surprising; Jiang Cheng imagines if they had switched positions that he wouldn’t be so light himself. But there’s something intensely comforting about having solid body lying on top of him, pressing him down into the bed. It’s so strange. He was sure he would dislike this, being trapped in such a position. Instead… 

Well, he wouldn’t call it feeling ‘safe.’ That’s a bit too much. Perhaps he just feels grounded.

“Is this fine?” Jiang Cheng asks. “We don’t have to lay like this.”

Lan Wangji hums, his chest vibrating. “... It’s good,” he says. His voice is low and soft, and his hands reach to find Jiang Cheng’s. The interlock and he squeezes with unexpected force. “I…”

He can’t see Lan Wangji’s face in the dark, but Jiang Cheng can practically imagine the expression on his face. His voice is not shaking, he seems the same as always— calm, controlled, at peace. Yet there’s just something in the way he holds Jiang Cheng’s hand, as if that is the only thing that’s keeping him sane, that makes it clear that Lan Wangji is overwhelmed.

“You…” Jiang Cheng can’t figure out how to ask if this is truly alright, so he just lets his sentence trail off uselessly. He awkwardly lets his free arm wrap around Lan Wangji’s waist, fumbling a bit as he acknowledges that he has no idea what he’s doing. It just seems like the correct thing.

Lan Wangji’s grip becomes even tighter, to the point that it’s almost painful. There is rustle of clothing and blankets as he shifts, pulls himself toward the head of the bed. Then he leans down and kisses him.

There’s no passion behind it; it’s simply soft and tasteful— less of an expression of love, more of a statement of assurance. Lan Wangji’s mouth stays closed and he lingers on Jiang Cheng’s lips. It’s absolutely lovely, the feeling.

When he finally pulls away, he also lets go of Jiang Cheng’s hand. Jiang Cheng is just about to protest— thank the heavens he doesn’t, he would have just sounded like a needy bastard— when Lan Wangji makes himself comfortable again, resting his head on Jiang Cheng’s shoulder. He becomes, once again, a solid and unmovable weight on Jiang Cheng, heavy and calming.

It really is comfortable. The silence between them grows more silent, if that’s even possible, and Jiang Cheng’s mind gradually grows more and more blank, succumbing to darkness in a slow, soft way that it hasn’t for a long time.

Eventually, he falls asleep. He doesn’t dream.

I’m looking at Jiang Cheng’s list of requirements for a wife (translated by my-otp-list i think?) and it’s just:

naturally beautiful, graceful and obedient, hard-working and thrifty, coming from a respected family, cultivation level not too high, personality not too strong, talking not too much, voice not too loud, spending money not too much. And must treat Jin Ling nicely.
