What an incredible start to my birthday! The #scoutforum ended today with a rollercoaster ride of amendments and passing of some documents that will hopefully positively shape the future of scouting around the world. We then had an epic closing party at the pool with an excellent covers band and lots of wild dancing and finished it all off with lovely chats to wonderful new friends. And it's only 3am! Tomorrow the interevent starts and we get to see more of the wonderful country of Azerbaijan. It's going to be awesome! 😁😁 . . #birthday #travel #sunset #amazing

I've been in Azerbaijan since Sunday, participating as a delegate for @scoutscanada at the World Scout Youth Forum, and will soon be going on to attend the World Scout Conference. If you haven't been able to tell from my lack of posts, it's been busy. Not only busy, but also crazy, exhilarating and intense to be here with 270 Scouts from around the world, discussing issues that effect our movement as a whole. Engaging in the democratic process of creating amendments and points for declarations, debating the topics at hand, and voting has been an incredibly educational experience for me. I am excited to carry on the momentum for this forum to the conference and into my Scouting work. #scoutforum #scouts #wosm #getcreative @youth_iar

It's so much harder to be sustainable when you don't know where your next meal is coming from, so to me these two goals are completely interdependent. Those in poverty are also the first who will be severely affected by the effect of climate change, as they have no safety net and less means to change their situation. That's not to say the other goals aren't!
