i just love the idea of the partner picking up slang (and jokes/pranks) from the hero. you can't tell me the hero didn't say "hey [partner]. say stun seed backwards" at LEAST once

for the ask game: 14 and 24 for kythera, salem and gaia!

14. What's an easy way to cheer your character up?

kythera: showing them videos of cute animals. they love the critters...

salem: an energizing pep talk! sometimes he just needs to get up and face what's got him down head-on!!!!

gaia: just, being close to him would help. affection always makes him feel better :)

24. Who is your character proud of?

kythera: if they knew what happened after they got factory reset, then it'd be kori. they're just happy he didn't let their friendship keep him from fighting for the good of the universe. beforehand, it'd be lanthan they'd look up to. (they think he's so cool.)

salem and gaia are proud of themselves and each other!

silly facts about gaia and salem i've accumulated:

- gaia likes sleeping while airborne. like he ties his vines to a tall tree branch, or one of the "teeth" on sharpedo bluff, and just conks out like he himself is a hammock. this worries salem immensely, but he insists it's fine because "i only fell off like twice before". (this number increases every time she asks about it)

- salem puffs out smoke from their nose whenever they're upset or angry. they can do it on purpose, but it's mostly involuntary.

- salem used to store little trinkets (like cool rocks, crystals, or their chip of the relic fragment) under their bandana. they still do it sometimes out of habit, but they're glad they have an actual bag to carry things in now.

- gaia really likes doing meticulous work (like wood carving and embroidery). it's something he liked when he was a human, and he's happy he still gets to do it even now

- speaking of which. he's genuinely glad his vines got ripped up, since he can control the individual torn bits like fingers.

- salem likes the orbs littered about the dungeons. like, REALLY likes them. so much so that he genuinely gets a little disappointed when gaia uses one. (gaia likes orbs too, but mostly for their utility.) he has his own special stash, but it still pains him to see a perfectly good orb go to waste :( (he certainly doesn't complain when gaia uses them to bail them out of monster houses, though...)

- gaia can stand up on his hind legs easier than most bulba/ivy/venusaurs. he definitely needs more help to do it in his final evolution, but he still has the ability to!

- salem honestly likes their tails unfurled more than they like them curled up, but they're a nuisance to navigate around either way. they've considered braiding them before to improve their vision/proprioception, but they feel the idea is too silly to ask someone to do for them.

- salem hates the rain. not because of stereotypical fire type shenanigans, but because it gets his fur and mane all wet, and then he has to exert extra heat to try to keep dry, which doesn't even do much anyway.... even if he shakes the water off once he's out of it, it just leaves everything all frizzy! it's just bad times all around for him

- however, there are moments where they're not opposed to playing in the rain. they even like to go for the occasional swim! it all depends on whether or not they're willing to deal with the repercussions.
