Raymond is the next scheduled cartoon character analysis.
I've posted my scrapped draft for the Utena script. I was trying to use the 'construct' in Slay the Princess as a frame for talking about how Revolutionary Girl Utena sets Ohtori Academy as a similar construct for the students within. I'm debating whether or not to share it on tumblr too.

I feel like that script was a bit ambitious and nebulous. Since I have a very specific topic, the next time I sit down to write, it'll be a comparison between Slay the Princess' construct with the Utena movie. And I'm going to focus specifically on Utena and Anthy.
Basically a couple years ago I was trying to make a film that I ended up doing fuck all with so. Here's the first scene and a half of the script.
THE CRYPTID VLOG
(Scene 1: Ellis in a room, addressing the camera directly)
Ellis: hello everyone. Ellis hereNOBODY SAYS THAT
(Entry card plays "Mystic Meadowgrass Productions presents" with Happy Phantom (tori amos) playing over it)
(Hey, editor here, before our brand was Gatsby/The Jimmys/sun stuff, it was Mystic Meadows and Mystic Meadowgrass. For the newbies who haven't been here that long)
(Song continues) Ellis: It has come to my attention that most of you humans don't realize what's up.
(A film by (my real name that im not telling you lol))
Ellis, voicing over some pictures of magical creatures living among humans: so much of the magical community lives right next door to y'all and nobody even realizes it. So I'm here to try and fix that.
(The October Vlog. Song ends)
(Scene 2: Ellis, in the woods, holding the camera and addressing it directly)
Ellis: I intended to film the intro in this shirt *pulls at shirt with two fingers* but a friend of mine stole it. (Image of Alexandria, voiced over) Alexandria stole it, took a single picture in it, and sent it back as a quote unquote 'devious lick'
Alexandria, addressing the camera directly, valley girl accent: I have… no regrets.
Ellis: uh, so how I think this is gonna work, is I'm gonna talk to some people I know, ask them a little about their life, ask them what their species is, and if they're public about it. Then I'll ask how many people know, and how often humans figure it out. I'll go first. My name is Ellis Halen, I'm 26, and I grew up in the gulf of Mexico with my dad Michael and my my mom……
