Scratch Microbit Blocks Explained | What can Microbit do with Scratch

In this Scratch BBC micro:bit tutorial, we’ll look at the blocks in the Scratch micro:bit extension. I’ve built a simulator that we can use to display some of the micro:but features on the stage in Scratch, but I also demonstrate these features using an actual micro:bit. The blocks allow how access to the A and B buttons, the accelerometer through move, tilt and shake, the LEDs and the pins. I also show you how to make your own custom images via making a list and exporting the list. You can then import the text files into list and store your images. Super neat! I also show you how we can simulate and A+B button press.

Scratch Motion Blocks Tutorial including Rotation Style, Go to X Y

In this Scratch 3 basics tutorial, we’ll explore the ‘Motion’ category. This category is perhaps the most used in Scratch projects as it brings your creations to life through movement. We’ll explore the x and y positions of sprites as well at the direction and rotation of a sprite. When a sprite reaches the edge of the stage it has a special block that can turn it around. Scratch Variables | How to Use Variables in Scratch 3.0 Tutorial

In this Scratch 3 basics tutorial, we use the idea of a box to understand what variables are in programming. Like boxes, variables store things except that variables can only store specific types of values. Variables in Scratch 3 can store two types of values: numbers and text (strings). We look at how to add variables, how to rename variables, how to hide variables and how we can change the value of a variable.
