i know no one here is a psychiatrist, but i was wondering if anyone else had no luck/insomnia with a long acting adhd meds like concerta? it helped me a lot but also aggravated my heart and made it hard to sleep at night. after that, my pdoc brushed me off and now won't prescribe any adhd meds to me anymore. i want to try something else but i dont want to seem med seeking. my adhd is really making a negative impact on my life. any advice? i dont want to keep getting brushed off...

Wow, what a crappy pdoc. I don’t think it’s out of line to look for someone who will prescribe you something else. You explain your symptoms in real-world terms, you say you’ve taken Concerta and it was a bad fit, and you ask what your options are. The doctor should, at that point, outline what medications they are willing to prescribe (e.g., my GP only prescribes Strattera, so I have a different doctor for my ADHD).
