Screambooth is a photobooth where as a trigger is used your scream. The photo is taken at the moment when you scream for a certain amount of time and volume. And in few minutes you get a printed photo with all your emotions as well as they get uploaded on screambooth.tumblr.com where you can share them, tweet them or simply download ;)
the Brief
With the final year starting our tutors announced that we need to put up an exhibition – in 4-week time. We got given the space – and as a punishment we got given a very uncomfortable, unusable and unsafe place.
Yes, it was Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre – the same one which somebody knows because of Polish restaurant, and unusual shops or of being uncomfortable to go in there.
the Show
Elephant and Castle shopping center is one of those local community shopping centers something like Dalston Kingsland Shopping center used to
be - as of now it has a lot more high street shops in there and a lot less kids hanging around..
Well one time in your life you need to get a space like this to appreciate other spaces, people you need to deal with and public around the space.
I created colorful flashy gif for the exhibition as an invite which was send over email. Making the Loading sign slowly loading with the colours changing.
I chose “scream” as my trig- ger, it might be unusual but as well as the area is unique and I would give people the opportunity to let all their bad emotions out. Letting all the bad frustration out would make people happier and who doest want happier world?

I started planning with the size.. I didn’t want it to be too small, but not too big either. I wanted it to be big enough for more then one person to enter and I wanted it to be mysterious – so my chosen color was black.
You know – like a black mysterious box?
As my DIY skills are not the strongest and the time and 3D workshop wasn’t on my side - it took tiers and blood to build the little black box. . I started with planing where will the printer, the screen and camera go. How far apart they have to be and how high as well as how to fit it all in the little “backstage” of the photobooth.
Then I got on the materials, what is what I will need and how to put it all together in a way you can re use it again and again.
