@blackflcgs sent a message in a bottle: "Y'know, always loved it when you call me Edward." He's a little drunk, so he can probably get away with being just a little mushy. He smiles at Izzy, the corners of his eyes crinkling affectionately at him.
THE ANNOYED huff of air that leaves izzy in a rush does little to distract from the straining, unwillingly hopeful look in his eyes as edward’s drunken admission. he cannot help the way his jaw goes slack almost imperceptibly, how his pupils seem to grow && breath catches in his throat. a simple, small acknowledgement that shouldn’t mean anything stops his heart for one agonizing second, && when he can breath again, izzy finds it beating so hard && so fast, edward must be able to hear the thump-thump-thump against his ribcage.
he looks away, because that look in edward’s eyes is too bright, too hot. he might be burned if he doesn’t tear his gaze away now. staring down at the wood of deck as if he might bore a hole through it, izzy forces out a reply that catches in his throat so fiercely it seems to leave deep score-marks as its dragged from him. “it’s your name, so.” he dares look up, only to wish he hadn’t — that smile seems to hold him captive. “...’s not that big a deal.”
