I don't think about the Beauty and the Beast Unit much, they're such nothing characters that they're not even in the novel, but a while back I realized that there's actually some parallel potential between Screaming Mantis and Tretij Rebenok

Screaming Mantis had her will entirely replaced with Mantis', every action "she" took as the commander of the unit and as a soldier was him using her body to enact his own agenda

Sound familiar? It should, because that's almost exactly what The Man on Fire and Skull Face were doing to Tretij when he formed a psychic bond with them. He was a slave to their will, his powers were theirs to command.

Psycho Mantis is doing to Screaming Mantis the very thing that was done to him as a child. Perpetuating the cycle but on the other end.

Now if only they'd written Mantis' backstory before this game instead of after and could have actually done something with this idea because I sure as hell have no idea what to do with this information!
