"Scream" is a TV series adaptation of the hit horror film franchise by Wes Craven. Instigated by a cyberbullying incident that goes viral, a brutal murder in Lakewood stirs memories of a crime spree from the town's past that has haunted some, intrigued others and maybe just spawned a new executioner. This will not be a full review, as I'm still in the process of watching season 1. I watched the pilot when the series first viewed in 2015, from first viewing I was quite intrigued by its faithfulness to the original, and also found it enjoyable, but also appreciating the concept the contemporary elements and the seriousness of cyber bullying and how social media can be a double edge sword in our lives. The characters are quite familiar to the rosta of the original cast, but with a few tweeks and alterations, but with being "Scream" right from the go, your playing the guessing game of who or whom is behind that mask. With it being a "Scream" series however you can't have without Ghostface appearing, who has the biggest change in the series with an update and new design that was approved by Wes Craven, and with a overall backstory of the person behind it, a deformed man named Brandon James, from that followed a series of murders 20 years prior to the series. The mask itself I find more scary and intimidating than the original, the idea behind the mask shows a history of torment and angry personified upon that individual, and as always its entertaining to see "Ghostface" in action. Overall I'm enjoying how the series is going and looking forward to seeing the eventual outcome and the continuation of season 2. From when I was a little girl I knew I was different. I used to get angry at the littlest things and my mother used to calm me down. I felt so safe in her hands. The softness of her beautiful palms just made me feel like nothing will ever hurt me...

I used to feel that way up until three days until my tenth birthday, when she was killed by a drunk driver. The son of a bitch is still alive! And he still lives in small shadows of Lakewood.

One time, I was at the grocery store and I saw him and I swear I wanted to literally kill him. I had to press my nails into my skin til they bled so I wouldn’t be tempted to do anything.

I sighed deeply as I placed the eyeshadow brush on a my left eyelid, adding pressure to get the black eyeshadow on it.

I then do the other eye and move to my concealer. I had to put extra on today because of my black eye that my dad gave to me when he was drunk last night.

He was fighting some guy that asked him to leave the bar and he wasn’t having it. So In a result, he took his anger out on me. Of course.

My eyes water as I hear the click of the cap of the concealer pop off. All I ever wanted in life was for a perfectly normal family.

But me and god, we don’t get along.

I finished my makeup and getting ready and then I went downstairs. To see him still drunk and can barely stand but he still managed to get a fistful of my hair.

“Aren’t ya gonna kiss ya old man goodbye?” His words almost seemed blurry, but I understood drunk talk.

I smelt the alcohol on his breath and when I stood on my tippy toes to kiss him on the cheek, it felt like his beard was cutting my lips.

He then padded my head hard and practically shoved me out the door.

As I got to school I waited for queen bee herself Nina Patterson to come to me and try to start shit, but today was different. She wasn’t waiting for me at my locker.

It was weird because she posted a video last night exposing Audrey Jensen and some random blonde chick, so I expected her to definitely be hear.

I tried not to think much of it as I passed my way through third period. My favorite. And I don’t mean that sarcastically, I mean it.

I set my stuff down next to the preppy purse dog like girl, Brooke Maddox.

Her dad was always a powerful man even before he was mayor. Even when we where little she would remind people to be nice to her because her dad had a lot of power to hurt them.

I just stood out of that bitch’s way in general. She’s just really annoying instead of mean I guess.

That’s just one of Nina’s little minions. She has a lot more.

First there’s Will and Jake the dumb jocks. I guess their only there if Nina needs backup or she’s just horny. She’s a total slut.

Next, there’s the smart girl Riley. She’s just there so Nina can spend weekends doing handbag shopping instead of her project.

And then, last but not least, Emma is used by Nina because she gets in trouble a lot so if Emma backs her up she won’t be in bad as shit if she wasn’t there.

I guess that’s it of the pathetic but most popular kids in Lakewood High.

It was almost the end of class when we were talking about our midterm projects when I heard Brooke go on and on about Thor new hot guy. To be honest I feel kinda bad for him. He’s probably nice, I hope her and Nina don’t corrupt him that much.

Brooke took once final glance at him before I turned around to look at him.

I wasn’t the type of girl to like a guy, not that I’m a lesbian or anything but he was the most beautiful boy, thing I’ve ever seen.

Somehow the conversation from our midterm project ended up on murder topics and horror movies, and our class freak and geek of course had to jump in and make the damn conversation into a fucking monologue.

The new kid seemed to be interested in it, he was the Mysterious New Kid.
