This is the key that unlocks the tower where Havel is trapped, and it is not certain who is the "friend" that locked him! It is, after all, found on a corpse of Blacksmith which you also loot Divine Ember from:

Divine Embers are property of the church and Havel himself was a bishop, so all things considered, this is more likely a friend that locked him away! So, maybe the full on loathing of Seath happened after Gwyn already burnt himself?

But at the same time, Havel's miracles are said to specifically be developed TO counter Seath's sorcery, so would not it make sense to develop miracles of the Way of White back In better times? Also, in the same room where Havel's armour is found, there is also a Club infused with Occult, the power notorious to go against divine and Gods in general. So, who knows if Havel turned like that when he was going Hollow during the first timeframe of the Fire dying, and it was Gwyn who locked him away, so the key was simply entrusted to that blacksmith?

With Frampt, it is easy to conclude that he hates Seath now, for being pretty much the traitor of Gwyn's legacy! Seath by now targets Way of White cleric women, especially associated with Gwynevere, for his experiments, after all:

But with Havel, the reason he hates Seath is linked to magic in general! Like.. you would think they'd either specify that he became enemy after Seath's insanity arc, or at least not put accent on magic, as if it is not just the reason but THE reason? Havel is also on forefront of having been killing Dragons as Gwyn's brother in arms, who has literal ancient Dragon tooth as his weapon and that miracle is found in Lake of Ash, which makes me wonder whether he did not accept Seath for racist (specist?) reason despite him joining Gwyn lol

So like.. basically, Gwyn had to deal with his friend absolutely loathing his boytoy and this is so funny to me fdhfdhsdsl It must have been super awkward with Gwyn having to be like "C'mon give Seath a chance, he is such a fun guy". Bonus points if Seath didn't even know who Havel IS xD
