Join us at the Alamo Draft House in Austin for the premiere screening of the new documentary All Hail the Popcorn King on the life and work of Joe R Lansdale followed by a celebration with special guests Joe R , Karen, Kasey & Keith Lansdale and Brian Keene.

From Bubba Ho-Tep to Hap and Leonard and for all of the fans that have followed along throughout Joe R Lansdale's storied career, All Hail The Popcorn King the documentary is something of a monument.

This is a film that we can all get excited about!

Joe's unique voice has spanned multiple genres and been adapted for film and TV. He has supported and collaborated with generations of writers, filmmakers and fans. Our film celebrates his contributions to Pop Culture through interviews with his many colleagues, fans and collaborators.

— 映画『標的の村』 ヘリコプター離着陸帯(ヘリパッド)建設や新型輸送機オスプレイ配備に反対する沖縄県東村高江の住民たちの姿を記録したドキュメンタリー映画。 2012年9月29日、オスプレイが配備される前夜に普天間基地ゲート前に座り込んだ人々が、強制排除に乗り出した警察と衝突する様子の一部始終など、反対運動を続ける住民たちに寄り添いながら、沖縄の米軍基地問題の歴史を紐解いていく。琉球朝日放送制作、三上智恵監督作品。

Aus heiterem Himmel wurde es dem Dorf im artenreichen Wald mitgeteilt: Bei euch werden sechs Landeplätze für Kampfhubschrauber der US-Marines gebaut. Das Dorf wehrte sich gegen den Bau. Am 02. Juli 2007 begannen die Bewohner mit einer Sitzblockade auf der Zufahrtsstraße. Die japanische Regierung schickte sofort eine Bereitschaftspolizei. Mittlerweile sind zwei Landeplätze gebaut worden, aber die Dorfbewohner geben nicht auf. Seit 10 Jahren sitzen sie unbeirrt jeden Tag auf der Straße zu dem Baugrundstück. Über Ihnen fliegen im Tiefflug die Kampfhubschrauber der Marines und üben so Scheinangriffe. Der Film „The Targeted Village“ von Frau Chie Mikami zeigt, wie die Dorfbewohner einerseits kämpfen und anderseits friedlich leben. Woher kommt dieser unerschöpfliche Widerstandsgeist?
