Old rumours on multiple versions and endings *sigh*
Hamill’s tweet about skipping Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters comes shortly after rumors indicated there were multiple versions of the film created following terrible test screenings.
In fact, according to these rumors the test screenings were so bad on the original cut of the film that Disney CEO Bob Iger personally stepped in, in order to try and right the ship of Star Wars. And while his test screening fared better than the previous film, it was still met with rather lukewarm scores.
A third version of the film would be created with Disney bringing in George Lucas to create a “secret Skywalker.” This version was met with much better scores. It’s unclear which version Disney will go with, but the source of the rumor indicates Disney will more than likely go with George Lucas’ version of the film.

I’d love to know about the various endings and stories that were so bad, and exactly WHY? I wish I could know the truth to move on, not just rumours. And how do they pick people for screening tests?
I think Mark Hamill was trolling, as usual, but my heart breaks at the idea that the test audience actually preferred alone Palpatine / wanna be Skywalker Rey to Rey nobody / everyone and her soulmate Ben solo ending the story. If that’s true, then it shows how little people want to think and use their own imagination and just be spoon fed BIG GREAT ideas, that are so GREAT and BIG with loads of old sugary nostalgia on top because it’s EASIER to consume. Unlike us, writing meta, and using our imagination to the point that we feel we know the characters inside out and anticipate what they will do next, because we are them....
A thing is sure, after all these rumours, the leaks, older leaks, amended leaks, reshoots, and the crazy final product, there has to be various endings, and it is not impossible that Ben lived in one of them... I just don’t think they’ll ever admit it or show it, because they have their franchise and the new trio to protect.
