People really underestimate Hudsons acting abilities.. and that THR article shows it.

Connor did a fantastic job with portraying Ilya.. that Russian monologue.. magnificent! But Ilya is an expressive and loud character. So it’s much easier to deliver that character on screen.

Shane is very internal. He doesn’t say much. His communication goes mainly through facial expressions. An eyebrow that shoots up.. fear that’s slightly on his face.. tears puddling up in the corners of his eyes. People really don’t understand how hard it is to deliver such small things on screen and make them noticeable. Every time I rewatch HR, i notice another micro expression. Hudson did a fantastic job with portraying Shane, especially since Hudson himself is the complete opposite character wise.

It’s quite sad to see that people don’t recognise that. That Ilya is even Jacob’s and Rachel’s favourite. It leaves Shane a bit underdeveloped. I think both characters are fantastic in their own way. And both Connor and Hudson did a fantastic job to portray them. Both characters have so many layers to explore. They both made this show. Hudson couldn’t deliver it without Connor and Connor couldn’t deliver it without Hudson.
