Mafia Insane Vice Lords (MIVL) — Defunct Five Points Faction
The Mafia Insane Vice Lords (MIVL) once maintained a small presence in Detroit’s Five Points neighborhood (48219), representing a local branch of the Vice Lords under the People Nation structure. Their markings appeared briefly across alleys and storefronts west of Evergreen, signaling a limited but organized attempt to extend Vice Lord influence into the area.
Their decline began with a concentrated graffiti conflict against the 24000 Blocc Crips (24BLK)—a major ScoreGang (SCRG) clique aligned with the 5Point Nation Crips (5PN). MIVL tags were systematically crossed out, replaced by 24BLK and 5PN signatures, marking a clear symbolic loss of ground rather than a violent confrontation.
By the early 2020s, all visible MIVL activity had ended. Field documentation shows no active tags or member presence since that period. The Five Points sector is now fully under 5PN influence, part of a broader territorial shift that absorbed older People Nation sets across Northwest Detroit, Redford, and Southfield.
MIVL’s brief existence reflects how tag wars, not shootouts, often determine a set’s survival in modern Detroit gang culture. Their faded crowns and lightning-bolt symbols remain as traces of a lost faction in the city’s graffiti history.
