The sun tries her best to comfort me, but unlike her cool and calm cousin, the sun is volatile and some days we do not get along. She is a beautiful strong individual with many disciples. She brings life as easy as she takes it away. She is not cruel though and when you wake in the morning and she is there to greet you; as she always has been every other morning; you realise she is not the enemy, she is a friend who is trying her best to warm you, to burn away the badness and bring bring life to your chilled soul. Just because something can hurt you doesn’t mean it will, or wants to. When you are the same as everyone else it is difficult for people to distinguish you from others. It’s okay to want to fit in but don’t make yourself fit for others. If you want to be remembered, be memorable. Don’t fade into the background, don’t blend with those around you, let your natural differences shine through. Every little mark, blemish, imperfection and difference is what makes you perfectly you. No one is just quite like you. Like every blade of grass you are essentially the same as your neighbour. We are all constructed the same but as we grow and form we develop differences. We create ourselves from ourselves. Every time we get knocked down; every cut, scrape and bruise is another mark on our side.
