03. What would be their favorite physical trait about themselves?

She really likes her lips and her facial structure in general. She knows it’s attractive. Even the broken nose.

09. Do they have a favorite season? What about a favorite holiday?

26. What is their lover like sexually? How do they feel about their lover’s quirks, needs, etc?

God okay, he’s a needy fuck. Very soft sex, kind of submissive, needs a lot of reassurance, has probably cried at least once, lbr. She honestly occasionally finds it overwhelming because emotional support is not her thing and never has been, as it requires her to acknowledge that she too has feelings and that’s just not something she’s comfortable with. She tries though, she really does. She doesn’t mind the comforting quite as much as she doesn’t know what to do sometimes.

Sometimes though, you know that gif from Brooklyn Nine-Nine where Rosa Diaz is climbing out the window? Yeah.

29. What is one of the most courageous things your character has ever done for a loved one? 

Allowing Danse to live against direct orders. Also used that freaking teleporter to try to find her shitty son, but that was more out of duty than love.

44. Is there a particular event that would emotionally devastate your character?

The Prydwen being destroyed. Also, losing someone to her own friendly fire. She’d never forgive herself for that one.

Bryce:

13. What are your character’s sleeping habits? Heavy or light sleeper? Blanket stealer? One that always rolls onto the floor? Pushes their lover onto the floor? Sleep talker or walker?

she’s actually a pretty light sleeper, definitely a blanket hog, though she wakes up without any blankets covering her because she moves around so much in her sleep, meaning that neither of them actually GET to use the blankets she insists on taking up.  She doesn’t really talk or walk in her sleep, but she moves around a lot. She has a tendency to roll on to her so, so she ends up kinda snuggled up against him, seeing as he’s much heavier than she is. It seems cute but really she has no idea she’s doing it. Also, she drools sometimes.

15. Is there a certain person in this world that they cannot stand? The very mention of this person’s name makes them tremble with anger or fear.

Nisha and Dixie from Nuka World. The Disciples and their sadism just pissed her off in general, but those two in particular, specially after hearing Dixie’s “souvenir” tapes. That said, she made quick work of both of them, so it’s just their memory that makes her mad. No one really knows their names so it’s not an issue.

She’s not particularly fond of the name “Cooper” either, though no one really knows why.

28. If your character became a celebrity, what would they be famous for?

Comedy, since mechanics and engineers don’t tend to become famous.

34. Does your character have favorite foods? (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks, etc)

She likes Brahmin, when she can get it. She doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, but she doesn’t have Doris’ issues with eating 200 year old preserved food so she’ll eat potato crisps. Despite not having much of a sweet tooth in general, she does like sugar bombs when she can get them, surprisingly. Not much of a veggie person.

43. Does your character have a switch that changes aspects of their personality whether they are around friends, family, etc. Is there someone who gets to see their true self?

Oh definitely. Around strangers, acquaintances, and even friends she’s funny and outgoing and has a great sense of humor and is really smart, particularly during her off time. 

Around people who outrank her, particularly her bosses, she’s respectful and all business, serious and dedicated, though she can poke a little depending on who it is. 

When she really trusts someone, she’s very playful, likes to tease and joke, but also very anxious, a little needy. She’s affectionate, kind of touchy, and tends to talk a lot more about her feelings and problems, though she still listens. She’s caring and worried about their happiness and well being, but she’s willing to trust them to help her when she needs it too.  She drinks a lot more openly, and is more open about her emotional problems.

Honestly there’s three people who get to see her at her most honest, sincere personality– her SO/best friend, depending on the universe, Doris (after a while), and her best friend who comes later.  Everyone else gets some level of the act.

Gen:

04. What are their favorite traits about their lover? (one psychological and one physical)

Psychologically- her sense of humor. Physically- her hands (that she uses to punch people with. It’s hot.) and her eyes.

08. What is, perhaps, their biggest flaw? Are they aware of this or oblivious to it?

She’s stubborn and doesn’t know when to give up or let something go. She can hold on to a grudge for forever. Her decisions are final.  She’s somewhat aware of it, but also doesn’t think of it as much of a flaw. She can be inflexible.

11. What is something that would make your character fly into a rage?

VULPES INCULTA’S FACE. Honestly just his voice. That furry fuck. Nothing will ever measure up to the helpless fury she felt when she came into Nipton and couldn’t do anything about it, and couldn’t punch him in the face or shoot him when he finally spoke to her. 

16. Is your character the athletic type or more of a couch potato? What are some sports/games that they like?

Honestly if she had her way, she’d stay home and relax, cuddle up to her girlfriend, eat some shitty food and some iguana bits. She doesn’t mind all the travelling she does, but she definitely doesn’t do it for fun.  She tends to like card games like Caravan. 

20. Does your character like animals? What are some of their favorite animals? Would they want pets? What about mythological creatures?

Gen really likes animals. She likes nightstalkers a lot, even though they wouldn’t make very good pets, she still thinks they’re cute. She does actually have a dog, Rex obviously, and she was really happy when The King gave him to her and she was able to save him. I think mythological wise-- I don’t know how much she knows about mythology but she’d like gryphons. 

33. If your character wanted to be alone, where would they go?

The Mojave is a great place to be alone, but probably the NCR safe house. It’s hidden and no one ever goes there, she had to wipe the dust off of the things she found there. It’s a pretty nice little building too.

36. Does your character have any medical conditions? Are they serious or minor? Do they affect their day to day life?

She has partial amnesia after being shot in the head-- considering, she got off easy, but it means there’s things she doesn’t remember, both about her personal life and the world in general. She also has a hard time reading and doesn’t always understand things right away, despite being very intelligent in some ways.

09. Do they have a favorite season? What about a favorite holiday?

Doris really prefers the fall. The weather is just right, not too hot, not too cold. She wasn’t much of a holiday person, but she did like Thanksgiving pre-war. The whole idea of people getting together and having a ton of food without, in her family’s case, a whole lot of religious stuff.  Post war,  she still likes the weather getting cooler but not too cool. 

Bryce on the other hand, actually really likes winter. Considering her uniform consists of several layers, it’s easy to understand why she prefers cold weather. Holiday wise, from what she knows about the old world, Christmas sounds fun. Wasteful, but fun. 

14. Do they live alone or with family? How do they feel about their family/roommates?

Doris doesn’t really live anywhere long term, as weird as that sounds. There’s several places where she might spend her time, depending on what’s going on and what’s closest. Ultimately she’s either at the airport, or at the undecided settlement where she lives with Danse and Gene and way too many dogs.  She wants to strangle half the people at the airport, being herself, but she still likes them. Gene and Danse she has chosen to live with, but they still have their differences sometimes. The dogs are perfect and can do no wrong, of course.

22. What kind of tattoos, piercings, birthmarks, freckles, and other such unique physical features do they have? 

Doris has freckles on any part of her body that ever sees the sun. She forms them so easily. She also has a break in her nose from when she got into a fight as a kid (she won!) and a scar under her chin from falling off her bike as a kid as well. She has a few moles on her arms as well.

Bryce has a birthmark on her back, it’s not very big though. It’s on her shoulder blade, near her arm. She also has a scars on her right arm from a bad encounter with a gatorclaw during her adventures in Nuka World, and one at the corner of her eyebrow, which also came from Nuka World, which she got while doing the Gauntlet. She doesn’t really freckle.

07. Is there a catchphrase or sound that they tend to make a lot (likely without being aware of it)?  Exasperated sighs. “GROSS.”

17. Does your character have dreams of getting married and/or having children?  Been there, done that. The marriage was nice, the kid blew up in her face, so she’s not keen to do it again. She also doesn’t necessarily believe in marriage as anything other than a legal convenience, which doesn’t apply post war.

27. If your character was going to get arrested, what would be the most likely reason for it?  Man Doris is so lawful, such a goody two shoes.I want to say the most LIKELY reason is getting into a fight, but that’s not really likely to happen very often, it’s rare for her to raise a hand to anyone. But if it were anything, that would be it. That, or something someone else dragged her into.

37. What are some of your character’s pet peeves? What are some things that annoy them or disgust them? LMAO EVERYTHING. Messiness, dirtiness, anything that’s unlawful, cruelty, being a non human :P

47. Is your character outgoing? Would they be the leader of the friend group, or the quiet one that gets dragged along?  The quiet one that gets dragged along and probably disapproves of the entire thing but is going anyway and secretly maybe having a little bit of fun, but won’t admit it.

06. Do they have any hobbies that their lover finds unusual, odd, or otherwise annoying?  Not really. Her so is actually honestly pretty impressed by/proud of everything she can do. “Look at my girlfriend she’s so smart/strong/clever.” 

12. Is there some particular talent, skill, or attribute that they simply could not give up?  Her ability to build things, and figure out how things work. She could have been a soldier easily enough but she chose to be a scribe, particularly an engineer, because she loves figuring machines out and putting them together, and generally working with machinery.

18. What kind of home would they want to live in? Where would they place this abode?  She actually really misses the citadel. A lot more room than the airport/prydwen at least. She’s never known anything other than the sort of communal life that she has, so being by herself or with one other person in a house would be weird and uncomfortable. She’s never considered it.

24. In their own words, how would your character describe what their lover is like? Kind of a jerk, definitely a loser, but there’s a good heart under there, and good intentions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

30. When it comes to the arts (music, film, theater, etc), what does your character like? God, she’s boring af when it comes to art. She likes drawing, but mostly she likes drawing schematics/blueprints, and practical things. She does find a certain type of beauty and artistic ability in some engineered objects, and appreciates form in certain things.

36. Does your character have any medical conditions? Are they serious or minor? Do they affect their day to day life? Aside from bad eyesight, she’s incredibly healthy. She does have anxiety and a little bit of depression, and she’s lost a lot of people because the wasteland and particularly the brotherhood, so there is some trauma. Physically though she’s very fit and healthy.

42. Is there anything in your character’s past that they regret, haunts them, or they wish they could change? She hasn’t always thought things through before doing them, and it’s gotten her into some bad situations that really hurt people she cared about. Mostly her tendency not to listen and to act without thinking.

48. Is there anything in particular that would ignite your character’s jealousy? Or does your character not get envious? She is not a particularly envious person, to be honest. If anything she tends to be happy for people who have nice things or have things that go well.

Eh no one tagged me but wtf I’m bored

I was supposed to go to bed but then I sat here and analyzed the shit out of the results. My characters are all over the place but it’s mostly because they’re unstable emotional messes who try to hide their problems behind acts.

So while this may seem contradictory it’s not. She just has very high walls to hide a very soft center. She cares about people, but her way of caring is, like I said, tough love.  Hence she is definitely controlling, and we know she’s tough.

She believes in the best in people, even though she’s learned over and over that that’s not a good idea. She falls for it every time. So she’s started to do her best not to let them too near, but she frequently secretly gets attached anyway. Even when she doesn’t entirely approve of every part of them.

Hahaha- again with the contradictions-- in a way Bryce is almost the opposite of Doris, where she appears very confident and friendly and cheerful but that’s because deep down she’s introverted and awkward, she’s just good at putting an act. In a way if she acts cheerful and funny and silly people won’t think there’s very much going on deep down. She’s learned that the more outgoing she is, and the more she focuses on others, the less likely they are to really try to know very much about her. People are generally self centered and love attention, after all.

 As long as you don’t try to get really deep or private, she’s fine. I don’t know what she’d do if anyone ever prodded though.  

A lot of the questions were interpreted differently than I read them, I guess. Bryce is a people person, for sure, but she’s an incredibly needy one. She’s terrified of being alone. She’s not so much mistrusting as she’s always a little nervous something is going to happen, even though she doesn’t know what. (Again, with the goofy funny act, because it’s better than trying to explain THAT. “What’re you worried about?” “I don’t know, I just am”)

That said, she is also very genuinely affectionate, even with people she’s not necessarily open about her own needs or feelings with. She cares about them, even if she hasn’t really pushed for them to care about her.
