❤ : What are some role-plays that you have done/are doing that you particularly enjoy and wish to share with your followers?

I’ve been having way more fun playing Makoto than I ever could have anticipated. I think I lucked out with finding some roleplay partners fairly immediately who indulge his ego and his self-destruction without trying to ‘fix’ him (so I can have all the fun of wilding out), but who also don’t let him get away with so much shit that he steamrolls them. It’s a delicate balance but necessary to keep things from getting stale or one-sided. I’m really grateful for all the shine that he’s been getting and for everyone who has put up with my self-indulgent bullshit when I’m writing him.

On a purely personal and OOC level, I think a lot of people, including my friends, tend to forget that I’m nonbinary because I play so many female characters and I’m comfortable responding to female pronouns even though I prefer neutral ones (they/them/their). Playing as Makoto and having people interact with me through the veneer of a male character has hit on some good gender feelings for me that haven’t been struck in a while. I’m not playing him for, like, gender validation or edification or anything, but it’s a really nice side effect that I’m enjoying while I’m along for the ride.

((A billion years later, I answer))10. Rae had to like children. She had three younger siblings who she took care of, and as a result got pretty good at looking after kids. When she lived in the refugee camp, she made her living taking care of other people’s children (part of how she learned Eorzean was by reading books to refugee children). She doesn’t have any kids, but children of her own is part of her dream of her perfect future. As a parent, she would be a lot like her mother, who was stern but also very prone to coddling her children. Rae would set some strong rules, but ultimately if they ever made a mistake, she couldn’t bear to punish them too hard.42. Rae’s life has changed a lot over the past few moons. In the short term, she just wants stability again. She had it for a very time, then lost it again. In the long term, her goals are very traditional. She wants a husband and a family; to set up a good life for her children and grandchildren. She doesn’t really have any secret ambitions or ultimate wants. She hasn’t thought that deeply about it.50. Two sets of clothes, plenty of socks. A blanket. A waterskin. A flower to remember home by. She’d pack light, and only considers what is important for survival as essential. She is slightly sentimental, so she’d likely keep a small thing as a memento for the future.

39. What do they like to ridicule? What do they find stupid? / 43. Does your character have any secrets? If so, are they holding them back?

39. Honoka has very few things she ridicules, but one she definitely finds stupid are Hingan politics. Never really cared or understood the purpose of herself getting involved after acknowledging how corrupt her papa was when she’d gotten older. Eorzean political affairs she doesn’t mind too much but doesn’t see any reason for herself to get any more involved than necessary. 43. Absolutely. Her true name and specific ties to a certain Hingan clan are a secret that only she and a certain wandering retainer know. Some of the OG members of Brave and Troupe Maizono may have connected the dots from the missing posters in Kugane, but majority do not know which part of Hingashi she hails from. Definitely something she doesn’t want to disclose to anyone else, initially out of fear of her father finding her and a deep desire to leave her old life behind.

What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC?

She is a lot more damaged from her recent divorce than originally thought.

(Not I’m not talking about Noise, she is still happily married to her Sneak’qo’te husband.)

She’s a lot more sensitive to people trying to come between her and any intimacy with Noise, even her other partner Batu. Her sense of self worth is at its all time low, and though it hasn’t really had a chance to show itself too much yet she’s now much more prone to jealously than she was before. Before it was a thing that would crop up on occasion, particularly when she tended to be the last to know about a situation. Now it tends to be a little more easy to trigger.
