So this guy Jeremy Bell is working on his own version of a vinyl scratching instrument specifically designed to function as a tool for scratching tape. The approach is very different from the classic techniques of scratching vinyl records, but it's made in a way to make control over the sections of a sample and the playback of a sample simpler.
And I think it's rad as fuck and I'm kicking myself for missing this dude's kickstarter. He does however have a mailing list at his website: http://jeremyseanbell.com/scrubboard/
So if you're into this idea like I'm into this idea, definitely follow Jeremy. A couple of people are interested in bringing his project to fruition, and I'd like to see that happen myself. He's thinking about releasing a DIY kit for the alpha version, which would be incredibly fun!
