“ Can you hear me ? ”
FNAF STARTERS !
when the pizzeria is empty, time moves differently. it’s harder to tell if hours pass, or days, or years. it’s much harder for theo to pool his focus into paying attention, harder to tether himself to something physical when there isn’t any around to perform for, to protect, to attack.
his consciousness swims back to the surface at the voice, though. there’s a pinprick moment of recognition before that swims away, leaving him empty and confused and concerned. who is she? why is she here? why is she talking to his puppet?
sometimes he and the puppet are one. same eyes. same body. he can see the flashlight the girl is shining into the marionette’s face, is momentarily blinded by it himself before he pulls away from both the light and the body, manifests as himself in the dark behind her.
movies and tv shows get ghosts wrong all the time, theo thinks. there’s no transparency, no glowing, no floating unless he feels like showing off. there’s just him and the edge of the shadows and the too-many places where they bleed together.
“who are you talkin’ to?” he asks from behind the girl. his voice is high and clear like the notes of his music box. “who are y’lookn’ for?”

LIGHTNING THIEF STARTERS !
“funny story, actually --” it’s really not that funny. the long and short of it is that he stepped in for michael on birthday party duty and this particular group of eight year olds had some great arms on them, definitely a couple future baseball players in that bunch. sammy tries to pinch some of the peanut butter and pull it from his hair. it leaves a single spike of hair pointed out, looking somehow worse than before. “carlton told me he’d let me use his new hair gel but i think he got it and the travel tube of peanut butter he always carries with him mixed up. weird, huh?” there’s no way in hell she’s buying that. / @partyhatted
“ What on Earth are you doing there ? ”
WELCOME TO THE PIZZERIA !
sammy has to blink several times before he can reclaim his eyes from the fuzziness of sleep, and it takes him another few seconds to figure out where he is -- bony hips pressed to the edge of the kitchen counter with a small array of little things set out in front of him where he stands ( a yo-yo with the string knotted up, a half-empty packet of tear away matches, some lose coins, and an expired packet of mustard ).
the oven clock reads 4:37 AM.
sleepwalking. second time this month.
"i was --" he touches the knotted yo-yo in front of him. in his dreams he's always at freddy's, and in most of them he's always tucked up behind the prize counter, leaning over it, body poised and eyes bright. how many tickets didya manage to snag? woah, nice haul! you get to choose a prize from the top shelf!
sammy rubs his eyes, his shoulders deflating as he sighs. sometimes he thought the only thing he really had in common with his father was that freddy's followed them both home -- henry consumed in his workshop, sammy running the prize counter from their kitchen in the middle of the night, the two of them never in the room for more than a few minutes at a time, and never knowing what to talk to each other about.
he squints at charlie in the dark. "at freddy's you're never really off the clock. welcome to the prize counter," he says. his words are cogent but still sleep-slurred. sammy waves a tired hand over his meager selection of trinkets. "see anything you like?"

SCOOBY-DOO STARTERS !
“dude, shut up.” this isn’t as bad as the entire ocean breeze shampoo discourse, but john is still a little surprised carlton hasn’t learned to zip it. as if on cue, the other boy’s stomach begins to growl and john wonders, just for a moment, if he’d go to hell for asphyxiating carlton right there. “if we get out of here alive — ” he leaves it there, lips tight. he’s sure carlton’s imagination can come up with something much worse than he can think of at the moment. // @partyhatted
just got done watching @scrubthememories play the fazbear squad in the sims and by far the most iconic moment was when john decided to go outside to read a book and charlie sprinted after him w/ a grilled cheese in her hands so they could make out on the side of the house
scrubthememories replied to your post: kq # inspired me to jot down what john keeps busy...
charlie vc : its a shame i wont be seeing you until school is in session
john vc: parting is such sweet sorrow
