Listening to the SCSDB school improvement council meeting over livestream angers me. All they do is spout LIES! I'm over here screaming at the computer.
Just took my senior picture over at Spartanburg High School. I will be a member of the LAST CLASS of blind kids allowed to graduate from Spartanburg High School. The South Carolina School for the Blind has rescinded their promise to grandfather in all students in the mainstream program so that they could have to opportunity to go to Spartanburg High. I am extremely disappointed with this ruling and what it means for the future classes of bright kids who happen to have visual impairments. The culture of despondency, dependence, and mediocrity at the Blind School will be instilled in the future classes while they issue worthless diplomas. The opportunities are severely limited there and I am sad to see good talent wasted. Here's to the last class of blind kids who will have a bright future. To the mainstream class of 2015, cheers.
Today, I got a phone call that confirms what I already though: I can take AP Comparative Government and drop vision resource.
I will have to go over to the Blind School campus at least once per week to have braille and Nemeth Code lessons, but I'm okay with that. I prefer it over my current situation, which is dropping my GPA.
Hopefully by the end of the week, I will officially be further on my way to AP Scholar status.
I have a hard time respecting people who do not respect others. I have been reprimanded for this many times. Today, it was "if you don't respect peers in the workplace, you will get written up by your boss." The thing is, in school, there isn't an option to quit. In workplace situations, there is. I have enough marketable skills RIGHT NOW to have some choice jobs. With my chosen profession, there is a lot of flexibility and not much person to person interaction. I will be able to make choices about where I want to work and how I want to work. I will respect people who respect others. I treat others how I would want to be treated and sometimes I treat them how they treat me. This is all.
Wow, I think I'm going to get more friends who are deaf, and they'll be outside of school, so we can hang out. Awesome!
I need to get off tumblr and braille two things before 3pm. Crap. Bye bye, I'll be at noob day for the Deaf and Blind School after 3, and then I'll come home and prepare for my return to SHS tomorrow. :(
See you in a few days, Interwebz. I have things queued, though.
