The Godfather With the Large Corndog As I watched my little cousin and uncle waiting in line, I looked over to the dragon ride🐉. Up until this point I hadn’t really thought about a time so many years ago when my Godfather, Ed, brought me to the fair. Where id rode that fun little ride. Everything was so much bigger then, Ed was too. Not only in stature but also larger in than life in what he’d brought to mine. At this point in my life, I’d never seen my father before. But I had seen Ed, the man who bought the largest corn dog at the fair, and who’d taken me on all the rides. The things me and my father had never done, the faceless figure I did not know. Yet here was Ed, walking around a little boy that wasn’t his own and making sure he was happy and well fed on a day filled with many smiles in the early morning of Autumn with The Godfather. As I looked back to my cousin and uncle sitting on the ride, it brought a great smile in knowing that those moments are some she’ll never forget in a world that seems so big with a guy who really is. In a place filled with such large attractions to a child’s small eyes, in the end they’re always smiling and waving to the folks on the outside, whoever they may be. Whether it’s a kid waving at their dad or that fatherless boy waving at their Godfather with the large corn dog. Who in the end, didn’t feel too fatherless after all🐉🎢 #alettertomyfather #author #scstatefair #southcarolinastatefair #scstatefair #thegreatest #thedragon #southcarolina #writing #writer #writersnetwork #writerscommunity #poet #nostalgia #adidas #adidasshoes #nasashirt #food #fairfood #foodie #foodies #fair #fun #child #childatheart #fatherhood #dad #thegodfather #justtoseeyousmile (at South Carolina State Fair) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpLYkOFHIKg/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1nazzl2gm3u92
