The Rover is out here next month. You see it? What you make of it as an Aussie?
Yeah I saw it opening day at the one theater in my entire city that was showing it :|I thoroughly enjoyed it, I though the trailer was a tad misleading, and prepare for a very slow, introspective, specific dialogue film.. I felt the mBut if nothing else The Rover does a few things beautifully, for one the cinematography was gorgeous, Australia is perfect for that style, its vast and empty much like the themes.. The performances were top notch, Guy Pierce is mesmerizing and in scenes he does nothing but stare and he pulls you in, Robert Pattinson took a role so unlike him and took it somewhere special, childish and primal..
The music felt off to me, and I really need to watch it again to go back through all my thoughts on it, but Australia has so many things to offer in terms of films and we really don't and this is one step in the right direction.. David Michod did something special with The Rover that I hope isn't copied because it was done quite well
