The Chat Has Arrived

Allright.

For the last year or so I've been feeding you with promises and sky castles of extended features of the SCV Rush website.

The first one is now ready.

Meet:

THE SCV RUSH CHAT

Perks

1) watch any online stream out of 150 in the database with one click while staying in the same chat

2) pick a completely unique color for your nickname

3) common English swear words will turn into panda faces

4) /w nickname whispers another user

5) combine the chat with user profiles by mutually following each other and get highlighted friends on top of the chat.

You are encouraged to watch your favorite streams on chat.scvrush.com all day long. We'll usually have some mods around and if you're missing some stream, email [email protected] with its URL and we'll add it pronto.

Meet SCV Rush (Comic)

SCV Rush is a pretty complex website and after all, the new slogan I came up with is "SCV Rush: Your Starcraft Home". I however doubt many people feel like that about our marvelous project and that's why...

... we created a simple comic explaining what we do in several slides.

SCV Rush Announces Winter Break

Even though I'm an awkward person with very little respect to social conventions (after all, I have 0 Christmas presents on Dec 17th), I respect other people actually want to reunite with their families and perhaps spend some time not in front of their computer.

Therefore, wetemporarily interruptour regular tournaments beginning withDec 24th. The only thing that might happen during are some relaxed tournaments for HotS keys.

We'll be back on track with the EU Gold/Plat #7 on January 3rd.

Enjoy Christmas and we'll be back at your service in 2013!

Online Helpdesk Now Available

SCV Rush really wants you guys to be happy. In order to make your stay on our website as pleasant as possible, we added a live helpdesk in the bottom right hand corner of the front page. The plan is to have it manned almost nonstop and swiftly answer your questions.

Even if somebody isn't available, you will be able to either leave an online message or you'll be directed to the same ol' way you could always ask about stuff - email [email protected].

You are also free to call us fucktards if we deserve so, but the Zopim system we use has a fancy ban button and we will gladly use it as a response to obvious trolls and abuse, keep that in mind :)

Gravatar on SCV Rush

As you may or may not know, we implemented Gravatar well over a month ago to make setting your profile up a little bit more comfortable. I'm now going to give you a little tour how precisely can you use Gravatar (especially because it took me five goddamn minutes filled with rage to figure it out).

Step 1 - What is Gravatar?

An universal service which enables you to set up your Avatar just once and use it across multiple websites – including SCV Rush.

Step 2

Sign up here. Make sure to either use the same email you signed up with on SCV Rush or you'll have to add it later.

Step 3

Upload your favorite picture which will identify you across the Internet. There will usually be two previews, a 100x100 one and a larger one (say 400x400). You can crop your image while uploading and precisely select which part you want to be visible.

Step 4

Congratulations, your avatar now displays on your SCV Rush profile and the repelling ON/OFF button is finally gone.

Step 5 – no it's not!

Go back to the Gravatar website and add another email to your account, the same one you signed up with on SCV Rush.

Tournament test is over. What now?

Ladies and gentlemen,

two weeks ago I initiated a little test with our tournaments. The results are as following:

NA – will keep the previous format of BSGs on Mondays and PDs on Thursdays. The prize of the PD is going to be Master coaching instead of $5.

EU – will keep the experimental format of:

Bronze/Silver - Mondays

Gold/Platinum - Wednesday

Diamond - Thursday

The concept of Crazy Friday is abandoned for the time being.

We're getting the wheels rolling to restore Master Brawls - on both servers. And they might have a far better prize than cash.

NA has "only" two weekly tournaments due to staff limitations. If you want to make three tournaments possible, consider checking out our open positions.

Huge Changes In SCV Rush Tournaments

The changes come to effect at November 12th and will be in place for two weeks as a test.

EU

There will be three instead of two weekly events:

Bronze/Silver - Mondays, 6pm GMT, Master Coaching for the winner

Gold/Platinum - Wednesdays, 6pm GMT, Master Coaching for the winner

Diamond - Thursdays, 6pm GMT, €5 for the winner

NA

Current tournaments are cancelled altogether and will be replaced with:

Crazy Friday - Fridays, 8pm Eastern, Interview with the winner/s

Each week, the tournament will be played on a different custom map which will be announced when checkin opens (30 minutes before the tournament). Should the custom map require team work, teams will be randomly set up by admins from all checked in players.
