          the city is new  ,  residents loud and the architecture perplexing.  it is easy to feel so small in such a grandiose location  ,  overshadowed by public figures that almost seem more mystical than real  —  an entire population watched over by enigmatic beings  ;  a population where it is so EASY to fall through the cracks.           now is not time to worry about the possibilities this city has to offer  ,  for it is time to take hold  —  to take part in these abundant opportunities given to him.  he eyes the girl who had just spoken  ,  a lackluster tone given to every new person.           ‘  yeah  ,  i’m new to the city.  name’s sal  ,  nice to meet you.  ‘

i've only met sal for an hour and a half but if anything happened to him i would kill everyone and then myself

          ‘  that’s kind of cool  ,  i guess.  i mean  ,  i would much rather just go to mcdonald’s  —  but i guess homicide is okay.  ‘           he jokes  ,  to hide his discomfort about the mere idea of homicide.  his life has already been plagued by the concept of death  ;  the last thing he wishes is to be the reason behind even more sorrow.

    “ Whoa... I’ve never seen anything like that before! ” Ven exclaims, dropping to a crouch to observe the imposing weapon with unadulterated awe. Up until a few moments ago, an unassuming boy stood in place of the wicked-looking scythe, before morphing with a grin and a flash of light right before his very eyes.

     The transformation took him by surprise, but he can already feel a dozen questions he’s desperate to voice all at once burning against his tongue, his imagination running rampant. There are so many things he wants to ask that he doesn’t even know where to begin. Ven rocks back on his heels to peer up at the girl carrying the boy-turned-weapon with obvious ease, sheer wonderment saturating his voice as he blurts, “ He really turned into a scythe! That’s awesome! Is he easy to wield? Does it hurt him when you hit something with him? Are you... Some kinda scythe master? ”
