Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This // Maddox + Darius
Raking a set of tired fingers through his unwashed hair, Maddox’s features puckered in the mirror. His curls tangled together when they were left to their own devices, catching on his nails as he combed through it. Sighing, he turned away, crossing the room and folding his laptop closed. The night had been uneventful save for his afternoon shift at The Cup. Well, that, and his kindling conversation with a boy online. Darius, his name was. He was as handsome as he was interesting, and though Max figured their banter was no more than just that, banter, he couldn’t help but smirk to himself as he tucked the computer under his bed. The older boy had something inviting about him, something that kept him coming back for more than just the wildly-named drinks.
Grabbing for the back of his shirt, he pulled it off over his head, dropping it randomly on the floor to go with the handful of other discarded clothes, clapping his hands twice to turn off the light and flopping back onto his bed in just his boxers and socks. For a moment, he contemplated whether or not he felt like jacking off tonight. Though he felt the urge, he wasn’t feeling the energy, and decided against it. Something was telling him to go straight to sleep. Pulling his iPod out from beneath his pillow, he tucked the headphones into his ears. He shook the device, triggering its shuffle feature, and closed his eyes. Within the next few minutes, he melted into the music, tucking himself beneath his Pokémon comforter and drifting off.
Sweet Dreams are Made of This [Freddie||Maria.]
A single eyelid fluttered open, peeking through a haze of sleep to the precious sight that lay next to her. Soon the other followed and her entire face broke out into a beaming smile mirroring the brightness of the sunlight breaking through her porthole, showering the room with a soft yellow glow. Shuffling slightly, and carefully so's not to wake the other, she propped herself up on her elbow, staring at the sleeping form snoring lightly, slight sounds escaping every couple breaths. Sweet and endearing, brown, messy hair splayed out over his eyes as his mouth hung slightly agape, the rise and fall of his chest rhythmic and gentle. Laid out peacefully and calm. Quite easily a sight she would never tire from seeing.
Two weeks, three days and fourty-three minutes...
That's how long it had been. How long it had been since he'd shown up on Rivet Cities doorstep, an awkward shuffle in his step and a cute, nervous smile playing on his lips. A complete and utter shock, surprise even when Harkness had ushered him down the stairs and he'd awkwardly navigated the marketplace to tap her on the shoulder. Near as dammit one of the best days of her wasteland life. Near as dammit.
She hummed lightly, reliving the moment in her head with a Cheshire grin upon her face. Every day she woke up it still felt like a dream. Blinking a few times, ritual now for each morning, she assured herself that it was still real. That he was there beside her. That she wasn't still sleeping and that that day had actually happened to lead up to this very moment. Another moment in his presence that she cherished dearly.
With a soft sigh she rolled onto her back, looking at the ceiling momentarily, it was no use, she couldn't lie here all day staring, no matter how much she wanted to. Swinging her legs over the side of the bed she padded over to the mirror, tugging her wild hair into a loose pony tail before slipping on a gown and sneaking out the door pulling it behind her with a soft click. After all, it was breakfast time and Gary had just opened shop.
