Update.
I’m sorry if this next post gets clustered and messy but I’m literally crying as I type this. So as some of you know, on Monday night (September 14), I had been working on my blog for most of the day and was running on little sleep and I was trying to delete one of my sideblogs in a rushed manner and I deleted my whole writing blog (sdarlingrps). And after having an anxiety attack and completely freaking out, I was talking to my friend Hannah about what happened and she put me in a skype chat with her friend who once had the same problem as me. She told me exactly what to do in great detail- to email Tumblr Support as soon as possible, be polite and explain what happened. And that’s exactly what i did. About 45 minutes after deleting my blog I sent an email to Tumblr Support. My initial email was short- I told them my name, my issue and the url I had. I asked that if it was possible for them to also restore my sideblogs, but it was okay if they couldn’t. After sending it I went to bed to try and calm down and by the following morning, they had replied.
The response pretty much said “we’re sorry but we can’t restore deleted accounts. We recommend you start over. If you have any questions, email us!” So i did. I (very politely) thanks them for their time but explained that I got direct advice from someone who had this problem fixed for them and had even briefly talked to others who had this problem fixed for them. This email was still pretty short, but longer than the first email. I thanked them twice, explained why I still had questions and then explained that I didn’t mean to be disrespectful in any way but why could this problem be fixed for others and not me?
I never got a reply. I waited 48 hours and never got one. I figured since they answered the first email pretty quickly, this most likely meant I was being ignored. So I emailed them again (This was about 30 minutes ago). This email was the same length as the prior one and I pretty much just explained that I put a lot of time and effort into my blog and would appreciate some kind of response to my questions. I pointed out that I wasn’t blaming them because it was me who deleted the blog but that if others had a second chance, why couldn’t I have one? I explained that it felt like I was being ignored and brushed aside.
Fifteen minutes later (Keep in mind this is after being ignored for 48 hours), I get a one sentence reply that just says “Hello, sorry but what you’ve asked isn’t supported at this time.” And this was my breaking pint quite honestly. In the other email they sent me, they apologized for my losing my blog two different times and seemed to actually be sorry. Now it just sounded like they didn’t even read my email and were again brushing me aside.
So I emailed back and thanked them (again) but asked if there was any sort explanation as to why my previous email was clearly ignored or why this problem can’t be fixed at the moment. I apologized if I was coming across as difficult and said I would understand that it couldn’t be fixed if I just got an explanation.
The response (word for word) “Hello,We're really sorry, but we're unable to restore deleted accounts. Thanks, [Doug]”
Again my questions were completely ignored. My blog had thousands of posts on it. I had it for over a year and it was filled with character development, organized inspiration posts, aesthetics posts, gif hunts, and even organized tags for non-rp plots that I’ve been developing. Now it’s all gone and TUmblr Support doesn’t seem to care. What are you supporting if you won’t even explain to me why you can’t fix something that you’ve fixed before? I’m sitting here shaking and crying because my blog is gone and it’s my fault. But a little help would’ve been nice.
