Isaac Julien’s “Eclipse” (Playtime), 2013 (detail), a part of the Murals of La Jolla, is appropriately located on a high traffic intersection as you enter the Village of La Jolla. This seemingly prophetic photograph is a part of an immersive installation film project that dealt with “late capitalism” central to the 2008 global economic crisis. The image has conspicuously taken on a new life, one that reflects the consequences of this wave of capital. Now that we are all looking outward from inside, will we rethink our priorities, our motivations, our relationship to the whole. Can we take from this tragedy and reimagine a world that works for us all. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #arthistory #artsandiego #sdartists #sandiegoartist #sandiegoartists #sandiegoart #sdart #sandiegoarts #findartshareart #sdart619 #sandiegoartscene #newart #artcontemporain #seemoreart #GalleriesNow #artcrush #modernism #postmodernart #conceptualart #modernartist #askacurator #arthistory #artistsoninstagram #artoninstagram #artlovers #artlover #artwatchers #contemporaryartist #conceptualartist #friezemasters https://www.instagram.com/p/B-aj_wLDtGH/?igshid=piogmw5ioyc2
