“I don’t know about you but I plan on hunting down all the Americans and getting them to buy me a drink,” Laurel announced with a mischievous grin. “I’m not Scottish but they can barely tell the difference between all the different accents in the UK so I think I’ll be fine,” the brunette shrugged, knocking back her drink. “You better not go around telling them my secrets now though,” she added, poking the other in the shoulder.

“Don’t make me make you walk in a straight line first,” Andie groaned as yet another person approached where she was set up with her tattoo gun. She’d been convinced by some others to set up a stand and tattoo people at the afterparty to promote her tattoo parlor, but she was getting more drunk requests than she would’ve enjoyed. “What exactly were you hoping to get done today? And before you mention it– no I will not tattoo your ass.”

“Did you say drinking game?” Candice asked. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d played one and she was already pretty tipsy in the midst of her partying. What harm could it do? She smiled, “Which one are you playing? And can I join?”

Even though Cassius was a Quidditch fan and wanted to go see the world cup, all his enthusiasm evaporated as soon as his father ordered him to go on his behalf. Gone were his plans to dress casually and hang out with his friends. Instead he needed to kiss some asses and watch his every word. He was disappointed when his team lost, but he was still their proud supporter. “It was a great game, I’m sure we’ll do better next time,” he repeated for the billionth time when someone tapped him on the shoulder.

EVENT 030 - QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP

The Wizarding World is abuzz as it prepares for the Quidditch World Cup finals. This year, it will be held in Scotland as the home team plays against the United States for the coveted title. It has not been held in Britain since the infamous 1994 game where the spectators saw their campsite stormed and destroyed and a Dark Mark appeared in the sky.

There was speculation as to whether the final match would be held in Scotland at all given the history of the finals in Britain and recent events. However, the International Confederation of Wizards' Quidditch Committee has determined that they will proceed with events where protective and security charms will be set up to only allow ticket holders onto camp grounds and the arena. This is unlikely to put a dampener on celebrations before and after events as many look forward to seeing Scotland play.

This event is an after party for the Quidditch World Cup finals. The winner of the match will be decided via vote which you can find here and will be announced right before the event begins.

The event will begin on September 5th at 12 noon GMT and end September 19th at the same time. You are welcome to have any of your muses celebrating at the event or celebrating in their homes/somewhere local or not at all. Any muse celebrating at the campsite itself should be tagged with  #sdhqworldcup but celebrating elsewhere should be tagged with non event or something similar. Please do not use #sdhqevent as this is for admin use only. Any edits should be tagged with #sdhqmisc.

“That must’ve been the coolest thing I’d ever seen in my life,” Luke gushed passionately about the quidditch game everyone had just witnessed. “–And I’ve seen cows give birth,” he added as though the two were on the same level of amazing. “Gosh, I’m not even upset that the States didn’t win– That was incredible! Thanks again for bringing me here, Theo.”
