Where do you usually start writing a fic? What's your favourite part of the process?

i can't recommend this method to anyone, it is NOT conducive to ever finishing anything, but i do have the habit of jumping into a fic with The Scene that made me feel insane enough about The Characters And Themes to open up that document in the first place. the pros of doing this are: if you end up shelving the wip for a good long while the way i have a tendency to do, you are in no danger of losing the core of what that fic is supposed to be. the cons of doing this are: literally everything else. don't be me </3
and my favourite part is probably the second draft (or editing, if i am being lazy about it) but there's something sooooo satisfying about refining dialogue and character moments and filing away the extraneous bits and digging deeper into the meat of a scene. Making It Sharper and Crunchier is without a doubt the best part of writing anything. to me!
