i like to think post-canon that royal trio all say “i love you” to each other more frequently and casually. it starts with 1) they get walkie talkies or a radio or whatever to stay in touch and 2) when they hang up the call, maurice without thinking says "ok talk to you soon, love you" and clover says "love you" back, and then stares into space for like ten seconds after they're gone. it’d take julien a little longer to hop on the “i love you” train for reasons i can’t explain. maybe bc he tries (and fails) to play it cool on a normal day, but the more time passes the more he misses how things used to be, so the easier it is to say, especially when she visits and they hug goodbye.

it's just so cozy.. after everything they've been thru together jumoclo can hug and say i love you often, as a treat
