Planning to write this epic [in terms of the word count and format] canon compliant prequel, all roads lead to canon ahkj fanfic where I'll expand on my headcanon of why there's no ringtail queens on julien's kingdom and why there's no ringtail lemurs and why king julien kingdom is polyethnic.

my idea is that king julien the terrible ursurped the throne and overthrown his aunt; the queen. this is a parallel to uncle kj and kj13 relationship. Why there's no ringtail lemurs in the kingdom expect for julien's family and the late soy sauce is because i thought it would be funny if the ringtail lemurs were a bunch ringtail elitists [some of them not all of them in my fanfic] and were xenophobic to different species of lemurs that the elitists group ended imploding in on themselves [mass massacre] leaving king julien the terrible, kj13's family and the late soy sauce family to be the only ringtail lemurs left in the kingdom. I also think it would be interesting for king Julien the terrible not to share his fellow ringtail lemurs' elitist beliefs, he's similar to his aunt in terms of views and beliefs but it's different. They both believe all lemurs [regardless of species] and all animals of the kingdom deserve a home; they believe that diversity will strengthen their kingdom and empower it. that's why kj13's kingdom is polyethnic.

King Julien’s crown is actually a Kokoshnik, which is a Russian garment. I think it fits him very well. I was gonna also draw Maurice and Mort but I don’t like drawing them so I ended up just doing the king and Clover. I hope you enjoy my more detailed art of them.

i still think about Maurice and Henrietta way more than i prolly should. she's brought up only in his dreams and is mentioned maybe twice. i find it a massive mystery on what she looks like or why the show never explored their relationship in more depth
