Because I have so much feels about what I have planned for that fan fiction.
And I seriously need to write it out, even if it's out of time.
So have some dialogue.
By the way, tell me how I'm doing. I wanna keep these guys in character after all!
Conversations are in no particular order, and they're not set in stone and subject to change as needed. Smokescreen will normal text, Knock Out is italicized.
during the first encounter in the story, fighting which eventually stops as they just start to talk
"Scrap, what's with you?
"Just trying to offline an annoying Autobot who thought he could actually get away with-"
"Being the greatest mech ever? Yeah, I can understand that."
"NO! For trying get away from the Decepticons! Honestly, you're an idiot to think you could hide with a paint job like that!"
"Oh, you saw that, huh? You like what you see, 'Con?"
"Frag off, Autobrat!"
"That's not denial I'm hearing."
"Who said I was denying you have a flashy paint job?"
"But I was asking if you like it."
"Hmph. Well... It is... Nice to see somebody has some amount of taste..."
"I'm taking that as a yes."
"Take it any way you want, it won't matter when I offline you."
"Now why would you do that? Don't you wanna keep my wonderful paint job in tact?"
"Yes. But I also want some payback for getting me stuck in the wall."
"Oh yeah. Hey, how'd you get out of that?"
"Don't ask! It would have been a lot easier if we still had the phase shifter at the time though. Lord Megatron still hasn't forgiven me for that whole ordeal. I'm lucky he needed me again later for a patch with Starscream."
"...Sorry."
"What?"
"I said sorry."
"What the frag do you have to be sorry for?"
"Well... I... If I had known you'd be stuck in that wall after I escaped... I never meant-"
"Save it, Autobot. What's done is done. I'm out now, no thanks to you."
"...Sorry."
"Stop saying that!"
"But I mean it! I really do!"
"...You... You do, don't you?"
"Why wouldn't I? You think I'm lying?"
"...No, its just... Nevermind. Don't worry your processor about it, kid."
"Alright.... I guess...."
"Hey."
"..Yeah?"
"You alright, kid?"
"Stop calling me kid!"
"Whatever. Are you alright?"
"W-Why are you asking? You were just shooting at me a minute ago!"
"And I stopped, just like you. Answer the question."
"Well... I..."
"Show the doctor where you hurt."
~~~
"Why the Hell should I trust you?"
"I could be turning you in to scrap right now. Or did you forget that?"
"Oh no. I remember it perfectly fine. Like how you were holding the children hostage against us!"
"Oh please. You're not going to get on me about using your little pets against you, are you?"
"They're not pets! They're our friends, and you shouldn't have involved them in our war! They have no place in it!"
"FYI, kid. They do."
"They do not!"
"Oh? Then I guess it was some other creature who killed Hardshell? Or was given the Matrix by Optimus so that he could restore the Prime's power? Or was counter hacking Soundwave when that... VERMIN, Sylas, was trying to join our ranks?
Face it. Like it or not, kid, those little humans you Autobots keep around are involved in this war as much as you and I are right now.
Oh don't look at me like that! Quit it!"
"You guys still had no right to do that to them."
"Whatever. Its not like I came up with the idea, kid."
"Then why did you do it?"
"Do what? Follow orders? Because Megatron isn't as soft hearted as your... leader. Disobeying orders is a direct offense to him, and when he's upset he's violent."
"But you still have a choice to-"
"No. We don't. We don't have a choice when superior officers tell us to do something. We have to follow their order, or get scrapped. And I for one enjoy living with an unscratched finish.
...Oh what now?"
"N-Nothing..."
"Yeah right.
...Want to go for a drive?"
"What?"
"Driving usually helps calm me down, clears my head. You look like you could use a break.
...Stop looking at me like that! Look, I'm driving off. You can come along or you can frag off."
"...K-Knock Out, wait up!"
~~~
"Hey Knockers."
"What now?"
"Thank you."
"...Wha-"
"Thank you. For not scrapping me. And for helping me. It.. I really appreciate it. I never thought I'd feel so lonely out here."
"...You're... Welcome, Smokescreen."
"Did you just say my name?"
"Well that is your name, idiot. What else would I call you?"
"Oh, well.. Its just that you've been calling me kid ever since-"
"Don't fret over it too much, kid. Its just a name."
"Like Knockers."
"Yeah, but at least kid is appropriate for you. Knockers is just ridiculous."
"Maybe to you. But I like it."
"And I like calling you kid."
"Well, if it makes you happy then I suppose I can live with it."
"What does my happiness have to do with it?"
"I don't know. I just figure if you like calling me that, then I can put up with it. Isn't that what friends do for each other?"
"...Yes. I suppose it is what friends do..."
"...Knock Out?"
"Yeah..?"
"We... We are friends... Right?"
"...Yeah, kid. I guess we are."
~~~
"I'm glad you came, Knockers."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. If any other Decepticons had come, I wouldn't have got to meet you again."
"Hm, well try not to forget I was originally trying to offline you, kid."
"Yeah. But you didn't."
"And you didn't offline me. So... Thanks too, I guess."
"You're welcome!
Hey look!"
"What..?"
"The sun has gone down. Look at all the stars showing up!"
"Yes... Very interesting, little tiny balls of light in the sky. How droll."
"Which one do you think Cybertron is?"
"What?"
"Which star do you think has Cybertron?"
"I-I don't know. And I don't want to think about that right now."
"Why not?"
"You mean besides the fact our home is forever doomed..?"
"We can't think like that, Knockers."
"And why the Hell not? Its the truth!"
"Maybe. But we always thought that Cybertron was doomed until the Omega Keys."
"Which are now useless since the Lock is broken."
"Maybe."
"What maybe? Its fact, kid! Optimus cut the Lock for this planet!"
"So we're back at square one. But we still managed to find at least one way to revive the planet. Who are we to say there is no other way?"
"...I... I suppose you're right."
"So?"
"What?"
"So where do you think Cybertron is?"
"...I... I don't know... Very far away, no doubt..."
"Kind of funny how back home, it used to be so big. But out here.. Its just this tiny little dot we can't even find."
"You have an odd sense of humor."
"Or maybe you just don't have one."
"...Hey Smokescreen."
"Yeah, Knockers?"
"...I'm glad I came too."
"...I'm happy to hear that.
...Hey Knock Out."
"Hm?"
"...Are... Are we still going to be friends?"
"What do you mean?"
"We.. We'll have to go our separate way some time.. I'm not going to be a Decepticon, ever. And... I... I just don't want to lose you as a friend."
"Smokescreen..."
"I...Nevermind. Sorry I asked. It was a stupid question and I-"
"Right now, Decepticons and Autobots don't matter, Smokescreen. All that counts is here and now. My universe is will never be same because of you kid."
"Knock Out.."
"I'm glad we met."
