Not thinking about Vanessa's body while walking home took an amount of self-control Shane didn't know he was capable of. By the time he could see the ranch, he was sweating from the effort, nails dug into his palm. Vanessa had let the moment pass by coolly and effortlessly. Almost professionally. So he should, too. Just a little wardrobe malfunction between adults. Not something he had any right to think about elsewise. He knew that. It wasn’t his moment to own, even in his head. 

How could he turn up on her porch tomorrow and look her in the eyes if he’s been fantasizing about her the day before? Nevermind that he’d done it before, admiring from afar. Done it days ago, even. That was different. He didn’t know her then. He didn’t know her now, either, but he’d like to, and it’s creepy to fantasize about fucking people you’d like to actually know. 

Shane Walker is a lot of things, but a creep is not one of them.
