Communication (Abigail/Sebastian)

Summary: Sebastian struggles to be vulnerable, but Abigail has ways of dragging him out of his shell. (For Day #3, "Cuddles" of Tickletober!! Took a shot in the dark at writing this pairing, I really hope I did their characterization justice. Hope you enjoy!!)

Sebastian isn’t good at communicating his needs.

Abigail notices it when they’re just friends, and learns quickly how to read him. But when they shared a kiss after band practice one night, after he walked her home in the dark despite her insisting she was capable of doing it alone, she told him that if this were to work out, if he wanted to be with her, he would have to learn to tell her things. To be open, and vulnerable.

He wasn’t thrilled about the request, but had begrudgingly obliged. He would tell her when he was busy with work, when he was too anxious to leave the house, when his step-father was getting on his nerves.

She told him things, too. Like how her parents don’t understand her, how she wants to be free to explore all that Stardew Valley has to offer. He takes her into the caves for the first time, and jokes about the horrified look on her father’s face if he could see them doing such a thing. It makes her laugh, a little too loud, alerting some creature dwelling in the mines, and they quickly scurry back up the ladder, giggling like they’re kids again.

One thing that Sebastain still struggles to voice is his desire for affection. He hesitates before reaching out, like he isn’t sure if he should hold her hand. When she notices this, she takes the initiative, and grabs his hand, relishing in the blush that spreads across his cheeks.

Holding hands is one thing. Cuddling is a whole other hurdle.

They’re in his bedroom, sitting on his bed. Music plays softly from his radio, and he’s reading a comic book while she plays a game on her phone. It’s natural, comfortable. Except for the fact that Sebastian keeps squirming, pointedly moving closer to her while making no effort to actually hold her.

It’s as adorable as it can be frustrating, honestly. She knows that this is new to him, somewhat new to her, too. She rolls her eyes, puts her phone aside, and pushes him back against the mattress, giggling at his surprised sound, the comic he’d been reading flopping onto the floor and shutting itself.

“You made me lose my page,” he grumbles, but the pink of his cheeks and the smile tugging at his lips tells her that he isn’t upset at all.

“And you keep distracting me from my game,” she replies. “If you want to cuddle, you can just ask, Seb.”

The word cuddle makes him visibly cringe, like it embarrasses him just to hear it. He doesn’t deny it though. He just opens his arms, a wordless invitation, and she happily lays against his chest and sighs, content, as he hugs her to him.

“You’re a dork,” she murmurs.

“Shut up,” he replies, no venom in his voice.

But Abigail gives a gasp, glaring up at him in an incredibly unconvincing manner. “That’s not very nice. I’m your girlfriend now, you can’t talk to me like that.”

Sebastian smirks. “Or what?” he asks.

Abigail hadn’t thought that far, but the solution comes to her as easy as breathing. It's what she does whenever he’s being difficult, what she’s watched Sam do since they were younger and Sebastain was somehow even moodier.

Muscle memory guides her hands to the incredibly sensitive spot at the bottom of his ribs, and she squeezes at it without mercy.

The reaction is immediate: Sebastian shrieks, a noise so high-pitched and ridiculous, no one would believe it came from the moodiest boy in all of Pelican Town.

“Wait, wait—” he starts to say, but he’s cut off by his own laughter when she goes for his belly instead, pushing up his hoodie for access to his bare skin.

“No waiting!” Abigail declares. “All I want to hear from you is an apology. Begging will also suffice.”

She watches his every twitch, every helpless smile. He ought to laugh more, really. With her immaculate sense of humor, as well as an extensive knowledge of his ticklish spots, she’s sure she can remedy this problem.

He doesn’t seem to be fighting her off much, and she wonders if he’s having fun. But if getting him to admit he wants to cuddle is already a struggle, getting him to say he enjoys tickle fights would be like pulling teeth.

When Abigail goes for his hips, he finally cracks. “Okay, okay, I’m sorry!” he cries, hands uselessly pushing at her.

She stops, grinning. “There we go. Was that so hard?”

Without waiting for an answer, she snuggles right back up to his chest as if nothing had happened, except he’s breathing twice as hard, and he’s much warmer now, too.

She doesn’t realize her mistake until it's too late. She always forgets that Sebastian is actually quite strong, and it only takes him a moment to wrap her in his arms and swap their positions, so that he’s hovering over her instead.

As she shrieks with her own bout of laughter, she catches a glimpse of his fond smile through tears of mirth. She figures some revenge is worth it, just to see him smile like that.

Someone heeeeelp, I remember reading a stardew valley tickle fic where the farmer goes to the community centre and has to offer laughter to to junimos but I can't find it anywhere! Does anyone have it?

Friends Like Us (Sebastian, Sam, Abigail)

Summary: Sebastian’s friends like to make him laugh. He doesn’t mind. (I started playing Stardew Valley and couldn’t resist writing a fic for this group of friends!! I hope y’all enjoy it.)

Sometimes, Sebastian wondered what good he’d done in a past life to deserve friends like Sam and Abigail. Never in a million years did he expect to find friends that shared his interests, especially not in Pelican Town. They were both so cool, and at first, Sebastian just couldn’t believe that they truly liked him.

But after knowing them for a good, long while, Sebastian wondered what atrocity he had committed in a past life to deserve Sam and Abigail’s teasing. Once those icy layers were melted away, Sebastian was pretty chill. But he had his little pet peeves like anyone else, and his friends not only knew those bothersome things, they also exploited them (playfully, of course) for their own amusement.

Ruffling his long hair once he’d finally gotten it to sit right, and crooning that stupid nickname his mother called him to watch his cheeks flush. To be fair, he did the same thing right back. Laughing when Sam fumbled a move on his skateboard, stealing Abigail’s drumsticks, normal things that friends do.

However, there was one thing that Sam and Abigail did that Sebastian assumed was meant to annoy him, but it just…didn’t. In fact, he actually found it quite fun. He swore to himself that he’d never admit it for anything, not even for a fresh, warm bowl of pumpkin soup.

Basically, Sebastian was super ticklish, and his friends found it totally hilarious.

“Come on, Seb, don’t look so mopey!” Sam teased, pulling a denim-clad leg into his lap, fingers scribbling behind Sebastian’s knee.

Abigail wrapped her arms around Sebastian’s middle, leaning her head on his shoulder. “Yeah, seriously, this band was your idea, at least pretend like you’re having fun!”

Sebastian’s giggles couldn’t be contained for very long, and he buried his face in his hands to muffle the sound, flustered beyond belief at the more high-pitched sound that left his mouth.

Sam let out a chuckle at the sound. “Wow, I didn’t know you could hit such high notes, dude. Maybe you should be our vocalist,” he teased, switching his technique to squeeze Sebastian’s knee and up his thigh.

Abigail’s grin was comically large. “Yeah, Seb, you’re a proper soprano!” Her fingers quickly joined in his torment, wiggling over his sides. Through his hoodie, it wasn’t the most effective method, but it still left him squirming and giggling like mad.

“Shuhut up!” he whined, burying his blushing face in his hands.

See, his mom wasn’t the most physically affectionate, choosing to show her love in words instead. His step-father and him weren’t close, so they avoided contact as much as possible. On a similar note, he and Maru didn’t interact much at all, so it wasn’t like he was used to this sort of affection.

Ever since Sam and Sebastian became friends, it was more common to experience the occasional nudge, poke, or hug. But Sebastian’s gloomy nature usually led others to believe that he wasn’t the touchy-feely type, and honestly, he’d sort of assumed the same about himself.

But once he got used to those fleeting touches from his friend, Sebastian found himself craving it more and more. Slowly, it became more common.

Once Abigail joined the mix, it was even better. She was a great hugger, and Sebastian always found himself looking forward to their hellos and goodbyes, just so he had an excuse to receive one.

The tickling had come later. Sam had discovered his ticklishness a while back, but rarely acted on it. But when Abigail spotted Sebastian’s reaction to a simple poke from Sam, she quickly grew interested in hearing the resident emo laugh his head off.

It became an almost daily occurrence after that. It was something he looked forward to, anticipated with nervous glee, and even felt disappointed when it didn’t happen.

Breaking through the barrier his hoodie provided, Abigail slipped her fingers beneath his sweater and scratched at his sides, making his laughter kick up a notch. Sam, clearly bored of tickling Sebastian’s legs, joined Abigail at his torso, going for his belly.

He shrieked, falling back against Abigail’s chest and nearly sending the three of them toppling to the floor, which seemed to be their cue to back off. Sebastian wrapped his arms around himself, rubbing at his sides to rid himself of the residual tickly feeling.

“You guys suck,” he said.

Sam laughed. “You love us,” he replied.

“Yeah, Seb. What would you do without friends like us?” Abby said.

Sebastian grinned. Yeah, he was pretty lucky to have them.

what are ur stardew headcanons

thank you for asking!! below the cut i'm gonna do headcanons for my favorite marriage candidates: abigail, alex, haley, sam, sebastian, and penny. hope y’all enjoy!!

abigail: abby is a major switch who finds both ends of tickling very fun. if you plan to befriend or date her, be prepared for her poking and prodding, she likes to make other people laugh. her sides and thighs are her most ticklish spots, and her laughter is very melodic and sweet. she loves tickle fights, regardless of who wins or loses. she just finds it very fun and intimate!!

alex: he pretends he isn’t ticklish, but he definitely is. his stomach is his most ticklish spot, and he will deny being ticklish while laughing. it makes him really flustered that a big, tough guy like him can be made into a giggly mess by a few pokes to his tummy, but it’s the facts. as a ler, though, he jokes that making you laugh is a workout, and pretends that he’s feeling for your abs or something silly like that.

haley: first of all, she snorts when she laughs too hard. you can pry that headcanon from my cold, dead hands. at first, haley is kinda bitchy, but when you break past that, she’s lovely, and i can just imagine how flustered she would be if you discovered she was ticklish, since she puts on this cold-hearted front. her ticklish spots are her sides/ribs and her knees. as a ler, though, she’s super teasy and uses her nicely manicured nails to scribble over all your bad spots!!

sam: he isn’t the most ticklish bachelor in pelican town, however he is pretty sensitive! his neck is pretty ticklish and his own long hair sometimes brushes his neck and makes him jump. other than his neck, his armpits are also super ticklish. he would much prefer to tickle others than be tickled, but if he’s really good friends with someone or dating them, it’s fun to let the tables turn.

sebastian: he is incredibly ticklish and incredibly embarrassed about it, and he also likes it, and is even more embarrassed about that. his feet and stomach are his worst spots and he has these really uncharacteristic, slightly high-pitched, frantic giggles. he isn’t a very good tickler, but he would try because when he is really close with someone, he likes to make them smile/laugh.

penny: my lovely wife penny is super ticklish!! her neck, ears, and back are especially ticklish, as well as all the conventional spots. she thinks being tickled is kinda fun, but she’s super sensitive and can’t take being tickled for too long bc her laugh gets all breathless and wheezy. as a ler, she’s overly confident despite not being a super good tickler. she teases with compliments and stops super quickly so she doesn’t overwhelm you. her laugh is super giggly!!
