His name is Isaac
Wow sex ed fandom. I see you out here championing diversity and then calling Isaac "the disabled guy" or "cripple" or "wheelchair guy" in the same damn post. His. Name. Is. Isaac. Whatever his flaws are in the show and however you feel about how s2 ended, he is a person. He is not just his physical ability or his assistive device. As much as society is moving in a better direction with gender and sexuality, we are still ableist af. Yay they talked about objectification of women in the show! But y'all still be out here equating a whole ass human to a chair! Inclusivity and respect for persons isn't limited to sexuality, race, sex, and gender. Smh
Ruby is, and always has been, That Bitch
Sex Education S2 review 101 for this hellsite *cheers gif*
Not to be like this or anythin but i kinda rushed thru S2 of SE and fellas we have shit to talk bout :
First of all they actually have talk about asexuality and presentation there which is golden also in that piece is mentioned how you are not broken for not wantin to have sex which aren’t words you see often in media.
Second of all even tho we got Eric as gay rep in the last season now there is also bisexuality and pansexuals (not gonna mention another gay character that got introduced) which is wow i don’t think they counted that otherwise it would be like imagine so many lgbt folks in one show when it’s only 8 episodes cause how irl would that happen i’m right. (they really givin us a treat there huh)
Third of all we gettin yet again how life gets complicated at any stages and forms etc + it’s never too late or early to try new things (with second tho are limits).
Next we’re actually gettin talk about some fetishes no offence to anyone who has them specifically but for me it was funny af so kuddos for that one too.
After that we can’t forget to mention the school star that was perfect example what happens when someone is under too much pressure feelsbadman (also how stereotypes stoppin people from doin/tryin new shit).
Another important lesson we could get from it is it’s always important to trust your partner otherwise it may not be the right one nor you’re ready for whatever you’re bout to do together (honesty and communication are the key kids).
Feels like i need to add also as before it portraits perfectly that people aren’t always what they seen like, that with some it takes layers to take off to actually seen them and how great they’re (or are simple the assholes they seem as).
Title of the show as it sayin is bout sex so i would be stupid not to bring fact that it teachin that sex isn’t the same for everyone, it’s not somethin to be ashamed of nor there is unique way that works for everyone since we all are different.
*Bonus point is lesson that sometimes we need tpp to see errors of others or our own/ issue not wantin to be like your parent too relateble dudes.
ezra furman. ezra furman. love you so bad underscoring the first episode of season two. seventeen by sharon van etten as aimee and the girls get on the bus together. ezra furman, mystery of love by surfjan stevens as jean cries and everything falls apart a little bit. ezra furman’s cover of lcd soundsystem’s ‘i can change’ as adam and eric smash up a junkyard, looking at each other as ezra croons i can change...they can change...and then, the final episode, adam’s resolve to love eric...just with the chorus...’never change’ because he doesnt need to....self love and...hnggggggg...
