The Sea Creature
From the waves sprang something alive, massed dropleys of water parting from it's scaled face. Upon the head was a crest made of sea spray, and the tendrils that waved about like tenatcles seemed formed from sea foam.
Taller than a waterhorse and longer than most dining room tables, such a lifeform was a prime contender for the oceans. But conquest and wanton slaughter were not in it's intentions. Excitement rippled like bubbles inside it's three tiny hearts. It sought sport!
A gang of dolphins were having some fun a while out, perhaps a few yards away. Witnessing their leaps, the sea creature kicked out with hind legs as the tendrils swung like arms on a windmill.
Carrying on at a speed to rival that of the porpoises ahead, it neared them in a moment and they all turned, prepared to scatter away and form an attack strategy. Surprise found the dolphins as assuredly as this lifeform did.
Gathering energy into it's belly and haunches, it performed an upward thrust that sent it into a mighty jump that dwarfed the leaping of those dolphins, each failing to dodge the water from that resultant splash.
Rolling clockwise, it emitted a cheerfully hoarse declaration before crashing deeply into the ocean. Seconds later, the head of it peeped up from the water to greet the glabbergasted dolphins before they let out echoing sounds of high-pitched applause.
Not many sea animals played with dolphins, who can be belligerent and disagreeable at times. But this one did!
