"It's alright- just breathe." Wonder instructed with a firm but concerned tone for his teammate. The last attack from that Shadow really knocked her off her feet before he was able to finish it off, and now she unfortunately had to pay the price. Kneeling down to her level, his gaze fell on her stomach where some blood began to form.

Taking off his mask, he breathed out and summoned Titania to heal both of them as much as he could, eyes watching carefully as she returned to his visor-like mask.

Sighing, he locked eyes with her again, and her wound. "There... is that better? If not, we should probably get out of here before any more Shadows find us. We're not so safe without Cattle to guide us or drive us around."

even  after  taking  a  beat  to  consider  it,  shinjiro  has  no  idea  if  he  should  take  that  sentence  as  a  compliment  or  not.  frankly,  he  can't  imagine  too  many  people  having  anything  good  to  say  about  him,  so  it's  easy  to  assume  that  one's  picture  of  him  would  be  less  than  favorable.  mochizuki  says  it  so  gently,  though,  that  shinjiro  struggles  to  imagine  he's  being  insulted  ,  so  …  what  does  he  mean  ?

shinjiro  can  only  huff  and  glance  off,  resisting  the  (  incredibly  strong  )  urge  to  roll  his  eyes.  he  can't  argue,  though,  because  honestly  ...  his  reputation  isn't  unearned.  try  as  he  might,  he  is  both  a  frequent  visitor  to  the  hospital  and  one  of  their  most  vexing  patients.  he  tries,  mind  you  !  he  tries  very  hard  !  but,  y'know  ...  if  he  has  to  choose  between  his  health,  which  is  fucked  forever  no  matter  how   much  he  takes  it  easy,  or  his  job  that,  y'know,  puts  food  on  the  table  ...

and  if  he  occasionally  or  frequently  prioritizes  a  lot  of  other  shit  over  his  health   too,  that's  neither  here  nor  there.  he  tries,  okay  ?
