Mina tugs you toward the front of the venue, where dim stage lights spill through the cracks of the door. A small crowd has already gathered outside, their energy buzzing with anticipation. By the entrance, a bouncer stands rigid, occasionally glancing at his watch. Without hesitation, Mina strides up and gives him a quick wave. He nods and opens the door without a word.
“Wow, I feel like VIP,” you joke, glancing around as you take in the scene.
The inside of the venue is has this moody glow. Red and orange tinted accent lights and dim overhead lights casting long shadows across the space. The stage sits at the far end, slightly elevated, with a backdrop of LED panels that pulse faintly in sync with the low hum of speakers. Instruments are set up, cables snaking across the floor, and a few crew members move efficiently in the background, making last-minute adjustments.
The air carries a blend of excitement and the familiar scent of wood, fruity drinks, and something faintly metallic—probably from the old stage equipment. Small, round tables are scattered around the room. The standing area near the stage is already filling up with eager concertgoers. The walls are adorned with band posters, some signed, giving the venue a well-worn but intimate feel. A neon sign above the bar casts a soft glow over a lineup of drinks, where a few bartenders chat idly as they prepare for the night ahead.
The energy is already electric, with a quiet anticipation hanging in the air as people settle in, waiting for the show to start.
Mina pulls you through the room to a tucked-away corner near the green room, three people are chatting casually, exuding that effortless band energy. You recognized them as her friends and the band you were there to see tonight.

As soon as you guys walked into the room one of the band members greeted you both. “Ah, I gonna assume you’re yn! Mina’s been hyping you up all night.” You smiled looking over to your friend who quickly turned to also look to her left. Then someone else started talking, you’re pretty sure Mina said her name was Jirou?
“Yeah, I heard you have ‘immaculate music taste.’” She raised an eyebrow but you could tell it was in a joking manner. You laughed before speaking, “I don’t know about immaculate, but I’ll take the compliment.
Mina nudged you with a cheesy grin on her face, “See? You already fit in.” You rolled your eyes playfully appreciating how loving she was.
He grinned at the two of you before officially introducing himself. “I’m Kaminari! Though I’m sure Mina told you that,” Then he turned to a girl with black hair, “That’s Jirou, our lead singer and here’s Tokoyami our drummer!”
He turned to the side slightly a pulled over him over place a hand over his head filled with black hair.
As you exchanged introductions, there was a knock on the green room door, signaling the show was about to start. A low murmur spread through the crowd as people turned their attention toward the stage, the anticipation in the air becoming almost tangible.
Jirou glanced over, adjusting the strap of her guitar. “Looks like it’s time for us to head up,” she said with a small smirk.
Kaminari clapped his hands together, grinning. “Yeah, time to give the people what they came for!”
Tokoyami gave a curt nod before stepping out the door with the other two following. Mina nudged you excitedly, already pulling out her phone. “C’mon, let’s get a good spot!”
As the band moved into position on stage, the excitement buzzing between them like static before a storm. As they adjust their mics and instruments, you pull out your phone, fingers hovering over Instagram.

The lights dim, chatter in the venue dies down, a wave of anticipation spreads through the crowd. The stage is bathed in a mix of deep red and orange hues, casting long shadows as the silhouettes of the band step into place. A low hum vibrates through the speakers before a single note rings out, cutting through the silence. The music kicks in—electric, raw, and full of life, immediately catching your ear.
Denki’s fingers fly across the guitar, and he moved his body in sync with the rhythm as he leans into the microphone to hype up the crowd. Jirou walks the stage effortlessly, her voice carrying through the venue with a balance of grit and melody, honestly sending shivers down your spine. Tokoyami sat behind the drum set, his movements precise but intense. The deep thud of the bass drum pulsing in your ear like a second heartbeat.
The audience swayed and jumped with the beat, some singing along while others lose themselves in the sound. Mina nudges you with a wide grin, her phone raised to record parts of the performance.
The energy in the room keeps building with each song, the synergy between the band and the crowd becoming almost electric. You find yourself nodding along, drawn into the music despite never having heard their set before. The way Jirou’s voice rises in the chorus, Kaminari’s wild strumming, and Tokoyami’s steady rhythm—everything blends together into an experience you didn’t expect to enjoy this much.
You laughed, shaking your head. Truthfully, you had been so caught up in the night that you’d nearly forgotten about your first day at U.A. that coming Monday. But with Mina making sure you’re not alone, promising to introduce you to the hundreds of people she knew, the nerves felt a little less overwhelming. If tonight was anything to go by, maybe this new chapter would be even better than you imagined.
As the last note fades and the applause erupts, the band takes a moment to soak in the cheers. A thin layer of sweat clings to their skin from the intensity of the performance, but their smiles are wide and genuine.
“Thank you all for coming!! We love seeing you all, especially returning faces!” Denki grinned, winking playfully as the crowd erupted in cheers. The energy in the room was still buzzing, electric and alive.
Jirou leaned into her mic, smirking as she scanned the audience. “You guys were loud tonight,” she mused, earning another wave of excited shouts. “That’s what we like to hear.” Tokoyami gave a small nod from behind the drums, his voice steady as he added, “Music thrives in the presence of passion.”
Denki chuckled, strumming a final note on his guitar. “Couldn’t have said it better myself. We’ll see you all next time!” With that, the band gave a final wave before stepping off stage, the lingering echoes of their set still ringing in the air.
Mina grabbed your wrist, pulling you toward the side of the stage where the band is cooling down. “So?” she prompts, practically bouncing on her heels. “What’d you think?”
Jirou wipes a hand over her forehead before giving you a knowing look. “Be honest. You didn’t expect to have that much fun, did you?”
Denki laughs, slinging an arm over her shoulder. “Yeah, yeah, we saw you vibing. You can’t lie now.”
Tokoyami crosses his arms, nodding solemnly. “Music speaks to all souls.”
You chuckle, shaking your head. “Okay, fine. I’ll admit it—you guys were good. Better than I expected, and I set a high expectation.”
Denki pumps a fist in the air. “Another one converted! Welcome to the fan club.”
Mina throws an arm around your shoulders. “See? Told you they were worth the hype.”
Jirou smirks. “Guess that means you’ll be at our next show?”
You shrug, a teasing lilt to your voice. “Guess I don’t have a choice now, huh?”
Mina laughs, and the night stretches on between you all, filled with conversation and lingering adrenaline from the performance. The energy from the show still thrummed around you all, mixing with the warmth of new friendships forming in real time. Denki playfully nudged you, grinning. “You better be ready for U.A., because with Mina as your tour guide, you won’t get a moment to breathe.”
Jirou smirked, sipping from her drink. “She’s basically the unofficial welcome committee. By the end of the first week, everyone’s gonna know your name.”
Mina gasped dramatically, placing a hand over her chest. “Excuse me? I’m an excellent guide. I make sure my people are taken care of!” She turned to you with a reassuring smile. “Seriously, don’t worry, I got you.”
