"You're okay, just breathe for me." (For Jiaoqiu from Moze)
“You’re okay, just breathe for me." |still accepting|
The situation with Hooley left a mark on Jiaoqiu physically and mentally, his blindness being proof of that, but that had been his decision. One that the Foxian did not regret for the sake of giving his friends and allies the advantage that was needed against the large Borisin. It was Moze who found him. It was Moze who stuck by his side along the other medical professionals who made sure that he was able to recover properly. The damage had been done though, his eyesight was gone. It was unknown if there was a chance it would return, he knew that they were searching for a cure.
That had been made clear to him even before they left to return home.
Jiaoqiu thought that he was fine, but there were times when those memories would come back with a vengeance. Hoolay's voice, those claws before they were followed by those teeth of his. A flash of it while he was dealing with a simple task or when he was resting for the night. A memory that was something that wouldn't disappear with a snap of his fingers. It wasn't the first time that he had been woken by them, it wasn't going to be the last either because of how fresh it still lingered in his mind.
He could not escape from them. No matter how much he tried.
A gasping breath. Hands resting against his shoulders before one was soon supporting his back and gripping one of his hands. A touch that Jiaoqiu was familiar with because of how many times he had felt it before. Moze's voice soon followed cutting through the rushing sound that flowed through his ears in the middle of his panic, he thought that he was here. He thought that Hoolay had been standing in the room with him once more, but the other's presence proved that wrong. He was safe. Hoolay was not here.
A small nod as his fingers gripped Moze's hand a bit too tightly, but he needed to ground himself. "I thought... he... Hoolay... here."
🌨️ : how does your muse react to snow? do they want to stay huddled up inside where it's warm, or do they want to go out and play in it? (for Jiaoqiu)
headcanons, volume one. |still accepting|
While Jiaoqiu does find the snow pretty, he would rather stay indoors to enjoy the warmth of his home. The cold has been one thing that he has never been thrilled about which is often why he does stock up on what he might need during the winter months. He will venture out when he needs to, but most of the time the Foxian will be curled up under a blanket enjoying a warm drink, reading or visiting with his friends when they come by.
Jiaoqiu does suffer from nightmares because of the events that occurred on the Xianzhou Luofu. The events did affect him physically and mentally.
Because he poisoned himself with Tumbledust, Jiaoqiu has struggled to return to that normal once more. He is determined to continue to work as a healer and cook the meals that he used to.
His sense of smell and hearing has improved to help make up for the eyesight that was taken from him even though that was his own doing.

What would they say to their past self if they could? (for Dan Heng)
There is much that Dan Heng would like to tell his past self while it would be difficult for him to forgive Dan Feng for everything that he did because of the punishment that fell on his shoulders. He is grateful that he was able to become a member of the Astral Express traveling with people who he does consider to be his family. He would voice his opinions on the mistakes that Dan Feng did make since he was the reason why things ended up getting missed up for his kind. Along with everything that Dan Heng had to deal with while he was stuck in that cold prison.
[💭] - What's a memory that they are very fond of? (for Jiaoqiu)
The first meal that he was able to make for Feixiao and Moze is one that Jiaoqiu is very fond of. Their reactions told him how much they did enjoy his cooking despite the amount of spice that he had added to it, but it was obvious to him that a meal was needed after they first crossed paths. Jiaoqiu had healed their wounds and made sure the both of them got plenty to eat during their recovery. Meals that he would continue to make for them afterwards.
"Don't" (from Moze to Jiaoqiu)
Don't |still accepting|
After the events that occurred on the Luofu, Jiaoqiu could understand why Feixiao and Moze were a bit more protective of him because of the state he found himself in. He was no longer able to see. He had to rely on his hearing, sense of smell, and touch to help navigate the world that surrounded him. The Foxian knew that he could rely on them as the two made it clear that they were determined to help him while he adjusted. They were determined to find a way to return his eyesight if there was a method at all.
Jiaoqiu didn’t know if it was possible because of the reason why he was injured in the first place. It had been his decision to go along with Hoolay for the sake of keeping people away. He didn’t want anyone else to get hurt because of him knowing about the strength that Hoolay did have and the fear that the Foxians had when it came to him.
Hoolay was their enemy after all. That species always has been since they first crossed paths with each other.
Jiaoqiu was being cautious for Moze’s and Feixiao’s sake, but he knew that still wasn’t going to stop their concern. He did try his best to reassure them that he was okay. That he wasn’t going to do anything reckless despite his teasing ways. The Foxian did enjoy pranking others.
It was that familiar grasp that caused Jiaoqiu to stop in his tracks while he was still adjusting to his lack of eyesight. A feeling of confusion washed over him with a tilt of his head, ears flickering toward him. Had he walked too close to something? Or was Moze concerned about something else?
There was nothing going on or so he thought.
“Moze? Don’t what? I’m confused.”
Send '😴' for my muse to fall asleep in your muses bed because they were to tired to go to their own bed. (from Moze, him falling asleep after watching over Jiaoqiu at the Alchemy Commission maybe? @ice-and-lightning )

The Alchemy Commission was Jiaoqiu’s place of rest because of the ordeal dealing with Hoolay that easily brought fear to anyone who called the Xianzhou home along with the visitors. It was supposed to be a time of celebration because of the Wardance. A celebration that quickly turned into terror because of Hoolay and the obvious threat that was there. A threat that the Foxians wouldn’t be able to forget that easily because of the destruction and trauma that was left in his wake. One that now clearly left its mark on Jiaoqiu even though it had been his decision for the sake of giving his friends and the Xianzhou Luofu an advantage against Hoolay. For the sake of bringing Hoolay to his knees because of the poison that he didn’t hesitate to slip past his lips.
A poison that caused his suffering. Deep wounds that caused his suffering. Toxins that took his eyesight away.
Jiaoqiu could only rely on his hearing, sense of smell, and touch to get an idea of his surroundings. His eyesight most likely was unable to return.
There were many voices and smells that entered his room quite often to make sure that he was recovering well or if they were a friend. He had met a few new friends since arriving here besides the tight bond that existed with Moze and Feixiao. One of those friends rested by his side now.
A flick of his ears after he found himself starting to wake up from his slumber taking a moment to make sense of his surroundings. He could tell that someone was nearby, but their soft breathing was the only thing he could pick up on before he soon realized who was there. A shift of his weight before Jiaoqiu moved to sit up as he felt around the thin sheet that rested over his legs. Fingers that made their way to Moze’s hair as he gently started to run his fingers through it while trying not to wake him. He probably needed to rest just as much as he did. @ice-and-lightning
[Nightmare] ~@intcrastra (Moze for Jiaoqiu!)

A never ending darkness lingered in front of Jiaoqiu leaving him no choice, but to rely on his hearing and sense of smell to help navigate his surroundings. He would have to rely on Feixiao and Moze as well despite how well he knew their home back on the Xianzhou Yaoqing, but it was going to take him time to adjust. It would take him time to be able to walk around the Yaoqing without any issues while it was unknown if there was a chance for his eyesight to return. He knew how determined Feixiao and Moze were with wanting to find a way to help make his eyesight return.
Jiaoqiu would have to relearn everything that he once knew for the sake of being able to continue to create the many recipes that he did know. It was a risk though despite the obvious warnings that were given during his recovery. Thankfully the Alchemy Commission was willing to release him, but he was still on the road to recovery. It would be a bit before he felt well-rested and the reminder of his wounds were no longer there.
He wouldn’t be alone though. He had his most trusted friends to rely on.
It was nice to be return home after everything that happened, but that peace didn’t last long. That was when the nightmares started. Nightmares which reminded him about everything that happened on the Luofu. It was an inescapable memory.
A nightmare that woke Jiaoqiu up in an utter panic. His sharp nails threatening to dig into Moze’s arms who was sitting in front of him trying to calm him down. Unseeing eyes darting around the room trying to locate the one known as Hoolay, his chest heaving with each breath he took.
“Where…? Hoolay… He… He’s.”
