Jiaoqiu wasn't going to tease him about being caught knowing that it wouldn't be hard since this illness was affecting him. He had been teased plenty by him so far, but there was a chance that he would tease him again. The Foxian was someone who did have a teasing manner especially with the people he was close to.
"Mind your step."
A simple laugh, but it did show the feelings that Jiaoqiu decided to show during that moment.
Ears flickered listening to Moze's footsteps to make sure that he wasn't going to stumble despite the lack of eyesight he did have. He did understand if he wasn't able to walk correctly because of the exhaustion that was dragging him down. Because of the illness that was making things difficult for him, but he was in good hands because of him. Jiaoqiu would make sure that he would recover. He would make sure that he wouldn't have to worry about falling even if his hands were full.
Jiaoqiu was there to support him after all. He would be there for him.
Once they were back in the room, he moved to find the nearby table to place the tray down since he wanted to check Moze's temperature first. He wanted to see how high his fever was. The messed up sheets were the least of his worries, he wanted to take care of his beloved crow instead.
Moze just needed to focus on himself. He needed to rest, eat his food and take any medicine that was offered to him.
A gentle smile feeling that tug before he moved to sit on the edge of the bed, brushing his hair back just enough to rest his hand against his forehead. He wasn't too thrilled about the warmth that he did feel. "Such a needy crow, I'm not going anywhere."
“It was the weirdest dream I’ve ever had. I’d like a word with my sub-conscious’s manager.” (From Collei to Tighnari~!)
random dialogue … sentence starters |still accepting|
The promise to take Collei into town for the sake of shopping to find the toys that she wanted to buy. A promise that Tighnari was willing to keep especially since she was no longer plagued by eleazar, she was healthy. It was a relief since the Valuka Shuna no longer had to worry about her illness flaring up, but he would still worry about her. She had been under his care since the moment that Cyno brought her to him those years ago.
She was like a daughter to him after all. Tighnari wouldn't hesitate to make sure that she had everything she needed even over the smallest thing. He would get for it or even reach out to Cyno if they were unable to make the trip to town because of the work that needed his attention as a Forest Ranger. There was always something that needed his attention or if Cyno needed his help with something. The trust between one another was a strong one, a bond that wasn't going to be broken easily.
After making sure that he had everything he needed, he turned to Collei "Are you ready to go?"
With that, the trip into town was started while Tighnari did test Collei's knowledge to see what she did remember from the recent lessons. There was always something new when it came to being a Forest Ranger, there was always something that he could teach her while learning new knowledge himself. Especially when it came to taking interest in a specific field like with his knowledge of the lives that belongs to plants and animals.
A blink. A flicker of his ears toward the sudden words that escaped from Collei's mouth. Words that sounded like something that Cyno would have said.
"Remind myself to remove that joke book from Cyno's possession for awhile. What was your dream about?"
"don't worry, don't worry, we're going to get you fixed up. good as new." (Kaveh to Haitham)
It was another trip to the desert because of the information that was sent to Kaveh and Alhaitham, information that held interest for the both of them. The languages and reading material that the scribe would be able to take a peak at if there was anything worth finding. For Kaveh, the architecture would have his interest since this place would be filled with architecture created in the past. He could spend hours looking at the stone walls that held up the ruins which called the desert home. Sumeru's past was always an interesting one, he even took interest when tales of the Aranara were mentioned. Mainly because Alhaitham was able to see them unlike the others who called Sumeru home.
random dialogue … sentence starters pt. ?
“You look hungry.”
“This… what is this?”
“How’d you find out?”
“Are you catching a cold?”
“That’s very questionable.”
“Do you ever just shut up?”
“Oh, I don’t like the looks of this.”
“Oh no, you sweet summer child.”
“… You don’t actually get it, do you?”
“You look like you haven’t slept in days.”
“Did you actually walk all the way here?”
“There’s nothing wrong with speaking up.”
“You don’t deserve to be treated like that.”
“Don’t you think you’re taking this too far?”
“Why do you let them talk to you like that?”
“I love this so much. I could do this all day.”
“What made you think this was a good idea?”
“No, sorry, that’s really not a good look for you.”
“You’re smarter than you give yourself credit for.”
“I care about you. This isn’t going to change that.”
“Next you’ll tell me you’re a superhero in disguise.”
“I often find myself questioning how you’re still alive.”
“I know you were just crying. Your eyes are still puffy.”
“Seriously? You’re just gonna sit there and do nothing?”
“Respect is earned. And you still have a long way to go.”
“You don’t have to make it up to me. It wasn’t your fault.”
“I don’t think you’re grasping the severity of the situation.”
“You thought it couldn’t get any worse. Well, it got worse!”
“I think my mind has gone places it will never fully recover from.”
“Just because you’re brave doesn’t mean you need to be reckless.”
“I know you’re going through a rough time. Can I get you anything?”
“So, you’re telling me, if you had the chance to change it, you wouldn’t?”
“You had multiple chances to reconsider this choice. And you still made it.”
“I don’t know what’s going on with you, but you need to get your act together.”
“It was the weirdest dream I’ve ever had. I’d like a word with my sub-conscious’s manager.”
I decided to have a lazy day yesterday and today besides getting caught up on the Sumeru event, but now I am going to work on muse things for a bit. Add the characters that I have been wanting to add and give some fun updates to the ones that I have on this blog already.
Because of his personality, Alhaitham is a notorious ragebaiter who won’t hesitate to use to his advantage even though that side of his tends to happen naturally even over the smallest conversation.
I am away at a anime con right now, tomorrow is the last day though but I am debating about adding two new muses to this blog. I haven't fully decided yet but I might start working on those once I am back home on Monday.
Those nights were never lonely when Moze was able to be by his side, he could always tell when he was nearby. He could hear him. He could pick up on that subtle scent that tended to appear when he had laid down for the night. It did make those nights easier sometimes knowing that he was safe because of that familiar presence. A thought that sometimes will help chase the nightmares away, but tonight it was unavoidable. One had appeared digging those claws into him. A nightmare of a memory that never was going to let go of him fully because of those fierce claws and teeth that once gripped him tightly. He had managed to survive, but the damage had been done. Jiaoqiu had healed physically, but the mental scars and his lack of eyesight was something that couldn't be undone so easily. That memory was always going to be there.
The Foxian tightly gripped Moze's hand before resting his forehead against it taking another moment to get his bearings straight. He needed to clear his thoughts as the tension slowly started to disappear from his rigid form. A small nod taking in the reassurance from those words. Taking in the reassurance from Moze. "Safe, yes... He is gone. Just my mind playing tricks on me."
Jiaoqiu knew deep down that Hoolay could never return, that Borisin would never be able to return. He would never be able to dig his claws into another Foxian. Those words most likely were something that Moze would have to continue to repeat for quite awhile.
"They do, they appear when they want to." Alhaitham gave a nod at the question. "I can, they come in different colors and shapes."
It was true that he was someone who did rely on logic when it came to explanations behind everything that surrounded Sumeru. He knew that they existed, he had heard and seen countless tales when it came to them.
He had spoken the truth about the Aranara even though people were quick to brush it off as just another story that belonged to the pages of a book. He had never told any lies to Kaveh since he was the last person that he would hide anything from. Alhaitham was an honest person even if he spoke a bit too bluntly to others depending on the situation, it was the reason why it was difficult to get along with anyone from the Akademiya here.
Alhaitham was one of the select few who could see them still. There was nothing wrong with Kaveh though, he wasn't the only one who couldn't see the Aranara anymore.
He did resist the urge to roll his eyes feeling that gentle pinch, one of the many ways that Kaveh did still tease him. But he was younger after all, Kaveh was his senior "They like the books and the treats that I bring them. They like listening to me read."
He didn't think that anyone would be jealous because of his ability to see the Aranara, a childish wonder of his for the sake of wanting to learn more about their world. To learn about their home. Alhaitham wanted to learn as much as he possibly could.
"You can get what you wish to eat, I can wait to read besides don't you have something to talk about?" Alhaitham didn't mind waiting to read the book that lingered between his fingers despite wanting to learn more about what was written among the pages. Kaveh was an important one to him, someone who he would put a book aside to listen to. Mostly when he had something to share.
Such a needy crow while the amount of time that Jiaoqiu spent in the kitchen wasn't too long. They were possessive of one another though.
It was a promise that he would soon return with the promised meal to help Moze recover from the illness he was dealing with. He was concerned, yes but he knew that Moze would be okay with his helping hand. The duties that the both of them had would have to wait until the Foxian would allow him to return once he was free from this sickness. He did want him to speak up, he did want him to share his thoughts even over the smallest matter since he deserved to share his opinions. Jiaoqiu wanted to know Moze's thoughts and feelings.
Jiaoqiu wanted him to make his own decisions, he was allowed to think for himself even with the loyalty that was there toward him and Feixiao. He wouldn't see as making those decisions as disobedience even if that decision was made during a difficult situation. He did understand the urge to want to see him even though he wasn't that far away, only just a short walk apart.
The door remained halfway open just in case Moze needed something as he had busied himself in the kitchen. His presence being the only thing that his beloved crow wanted at the moment.
Fingers were quick to balance the tray to keep the warm food from falling to the floor, the request that Moze had being fulfilled.
If only he had been quicker with making his decision.
A smile. A chuckle. "I wasn't going to be gone long, but I'm here now. Let's get you back into bed so you can eat and rest."
Loyal to a fault while those three simple words would hold plenty of meaning between the two of them because of the lingering bond. He trusted Moze fully allowing the other to lead him across the ground that rested underneath their feet. It was difficult to trace Moze when he lingered in the shadows especially because of the skill that he honed over time. They weren't a threat though.
Once the ground rested beneath his feet once more, his ears flickered listening to their surroundings for just a moment. His fingers moved to intertwine with his feeling that warmth he knew quite well.
"That does sound nice, you can describe the area to me as we walk or if there is something that catches your attention." He would have to rely on Moze's words about the area that they were standing in alongside his hearing and sense of smell. Any shared words would tell him how the surrounding area looked if there was anything of interest nearby.
This would be one of the many experiences that the two of them would be able to experience. He wouldn't be upset if Moze decided to continue to carry him through these streets.
He relied on Moze's guiding hand to help lead him through the streets to the destination that he had in mind. The tension could be felt telling Jiaoqiu that he was suddenly on guard while there was nothing to cause any concern heard by his ears. He gave that hand a gently squeeze to give some reassurance. "Relax Moze, we're fine here."
A smile graced his lips seeing the pout that had crossed his face because of the teasing words he did share. He was aware that people were often terrified when it came to Cyno, but they didn't know him like he did. Tighnari was the one who knew the oh so scary General Mahamatra the most. The people would get to know the real him as long as they didn't pay any mind to those ridiculous rumors.
Those rumors meant nothing to him though. Tighnari chose to ignore them to figure out Cyno for himself.
"We'll see if you can." A chuckle did escape from him before glancing at the information he was still writing down on the page of the book that lingered between his fingers. "You'll have to find me first next time to make sure that you get your answer." It was obvious to him that this was that playful banter he was familiar with, he was harmless as a fly when it came to him. A groan escaped him once more before he did grab the offered piece that was held out to him. "How long have you been waiting to tell that one?"
"It will get easier as you practice more." It was practice and his knowledge of the medical field that caused Jiaoqiu to be able to cook properly. It was a skill that had to be learned though. His hand moved to grasp a chair before Jiaoqiu pulled it forward to take a seat while relying on his sense of smell and hearing to keep track of how the cooking was going. "You don't have to rush cooking the dish, rushing things can lead to mistakes." The Foxian was only able to direct him with his words while he normally would have shown Kailm himself if he was able to properly see. He was been able to teach Moze how to cook who always listened to his instructions which had made things easier in the kitchen. "Yes, if it starts to splash you might have the heat turned up too high. You don't want to burn yourself or have a repeat of just what happened." It would be a simple task to help Kalim through the process of cooking the dish that was in front of them, he just needed to make sure to listen to what he had to say. That was the only way to avoid from repeating that mistake.
"You're okay, just breathe for me." (For Jiaoqiu from Moze)
“You’re okay, just breathe for me." |still accepting|
The situation with Hooley left a mark on Jiaoqiu physically and mentally, his blindness being proof of that, but that had been his decision. One that the Foxian did not regret for the sake of giving his friends and allies the advantage that was needed against the large Borisin. It was Moze who found him. It was Moze who stuck by his side along the other medical professionals who made sure that he was able to recover properly. The damage had been done though, his eyesight was gone. It was unknown if there was a chance it would return, he knew that they were searching for a cure.
That had been made clear to him even before they left to return home.
Jiaoqiu thought that he was fine, but there were times when those memories would come back with a vengeance. Hoolay's voice, those claws before they were followed by those teeth of his. A flash of it while he was dealing with a simple task or when he was resting for the night. A memory that was something that wouldn't disappear with a snap of his fingers. It wasn't the first time that he had been woken by them, it wasn't going to be the last either because of how fresh it still lingered in his mind.
He could not escape from them. No matter how much he tried.
A gasping breath. Hands resting against his shoulders before one was soon supporting his back and gripping one of his hands. A touch that Jiaoqiu was familiar with because of how many times he had felt it before. Moze's voice soon followed cutting through the rushing sound that flowed through his ears in the middle of his panic, he thought that he was here. He thought that Hoolay had been standing in the room with him once more, but the other's presence proved that wrong. He was safe. Hoolay was not here.
A small nod as his fingers gripped Moze's hand a bit too tightly, but he needed to ground himself. "I thought... he... Hoolay... here."
"Share a drink with me, won't you?" The request ( or does it sound more like a demand? Hm- ) comes rather abruptly, even Diluc seems surprised in the fact that he'd voiced it aloud.
Still, after a moment to regain his bearings ( and half expecting Kaeya would have run or taunted him by then ), he shook his head.
"The grapes have turned out well this year...I seem to recall a certain someone always liked to have the first of the fresh harvest." (Diluc birthday, he woke up jhbgfjg)
A question that Kaeya didn't expect on a day that was supposed to be about Diluc, he did recall that it was his special day. A drink was the last thing that he thought the other would voice about wanting to share with him. Things were still tense between them. Was their relationship heading toward the right direction? Was it getting better? Kaeya couldn't answer that. "You want to share a drink with me? I am sure there are others who would you like to drink with more."
He didn't know if it was a good idea for them to attempt to share a drink together, but Diluc seemed eager? It seemed that he wanted to share a drink with him. He wasn't wrong about his preference especially when it came to first of the fresh harvest that always arrived around this time.
"Hmm... tempting." Kaeya did tilt his head in thought for just a moment while he never said no to getting that first taste from the fresh harvest. "I will share a drink with you then. That taste is always the best when it is fresh."
